In my brief time here I have encountered so many stories analogous to mine. Obviously, there are variations; yet we are all reeling from way out-of-the-box relationships. I would like to open a conversation about our confrontations with them. I've yet to see a thread where a T takes any ownership or even partial responsibility for the emotional harm she/he has wrought. A few precepts from my experience (13+ yrs.)
  • An extremely short hop between coincidence and destiny.
The first moment you heard that you would grow old together.
  • Married whomever as a missionary because of the confidence that he/she would be a good parent.
Takes a family vacation to a place he/her knows you will be, where you once lived, in a European country, at the same time. You offer maps, get "I want you". Ignore the implications and suggest that shorts are never appropriate for anybody over 18.

Just to begin, this was all in the first couple of years.
  • I do not believe these people are inherently evil, I do believe that they do struggle with their feelings.
Why, no matter the means of confrontation, do they so vehemently refuse to acknowledge that they are human and prone to the same missteps as the rest of us? [/LIST]do you think they talk about this among themselves?

It is a true mystery to me. Any feedback is most appreciated.

It is a mystery, isn't it!!
My only suggestion is to read up on narcissists and sociopaths.

I agree with jungatheart!
My ex was a sociopath and wasn't capable of remorse or ownership of past wrongs she had a certain grandiose opinion of herself, I am thinking she would have made a perfect t!
