I stopped seeing my therapist because I am so in love with him. He, of course, is professional and ethical and let me know nothing could ever happen between us. This made me feel upset and more depressed. Now I am seeing a new therapist, but I still have strong feelings for my former therapist and can't get rid of my thoughts and feelings for him. I have wanted to talk about this for a long time but never had a safe place to do so until I found this site today. I really feel like I am going nuts. I have not gone into any detail with my current therapist about my feelings for my former therapist. I am wondering how much I should talk about with my new therapist.

The only way out is through, in my opinion. I chose to work through my erotic transference with my T rather than through someone else. So far it's been really freeing and healing. I think you should have many conversations about your feelings for your old T with your new T.
