Hi folks!

I was just thinking that maybe some of our members want to respond but aren't sure of what to say when someone asks for prayer.

For me, it's enough that you read my post, which I can see by the number of "views." But others may need more support, and you can easily do this.

Do you pray? I would suspect you do, you're reading in the spirituality forum! It doesn't matter to most Who you pray to, or How you connect to your higher power... but if you would use the praying icon smiley, that would be enough to show you care.

You can access the smiley by typing (without spaces) : praying : and you'll post this:
But the site needs at least 10 spaces filled as a reply before it will post it, so put a few of them or add a hug or even just dots/periods ........

There are other good smileys to use...just click on the ones you want that are displayed on the right --------> over there when your reply window is open.

It's enough to just leave smileys, if you don't know what to say, or don't have time to give the response you would normally.
But words don't have to be complicated to someone in need of support (and this all goes for anywhere on the site, even in PMs!)

"I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through."
"I'm thinking of you."
"Take care of yourself."
"Will keep you (and ...others, family) in mind."

Are all good replies too.

So don't be shy about replying to someone in need.... please do leave a note to say you read and care.

Thank you for this thread... I would be posting here more, but when someone asks for prayers I don't know if they would appreciate it if I just said I'm going to keep them in my thoughts... I'm afraid they'd think something like "That's not what I was asking for"...
I don't pray, but I visit this forum to see if there's someone in need of some support... and if so, I send some hugs and tell them I'll be sending positive thoughts their way... I'm just never sure if that would be "enough" for a religious person

As a "religious person" myself, I can say that hugs are always enough!!! So needed. So appreciated.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
