Oh, I see Lizardlady. I think it depends on the situation presented to you. Perhaps the best reaction would be, "I will keep you in my private thoughts" and avoiding the word prayer. Or just saying, "My thoughts will be with you" etc.

I appreciate everyone's feedback. I have some ideas now how to respond to people who ask me to pray for them/someone else. In light of Sabby's gentle reminder let's let this thread come to an end so we don't violate the forum guidelines. Again, thank you all for your suggestions.
