We got the results of her cancer surgery and here is what my dad said in an email to family and friends..

The cancer is a uterine carcinosarcoma which is a rare and aggressive. The plan is to attack it with what the doctor termed as a "sandwich" therapy. It is chemotherapy followed by radiation therapy, followed by another round of chemotherapy. It will take about 6 months to complete all three phases, and will begin on January 17.

The doctor seems optimistic and suggests a 80% "success" estimate, but since it is so rare there is not much statistical data to back that up. I did some research on the net that is much more pessimistic.

He said the lymph nodes were not involved, but the ovaries were, so that is a good news/bad news scenario. Hopefully it was caught early on which will increase the chances for success.

So please pray she will heal and come through this clean and cancer free. It was about this time last year she had breast cancer.

Jan

I'm so sorry she has to go thru treatment again! She's surely had a rough time!

Just know that she will be in my prayers -- they've made such great strides in cancer treatment! God bless & please take care. Hugs, Lee

You don't know how much this means to me. I am a bit freaked out now because I went and read some about the type of cancer she has and I have a few of the risk factors for it so am kind of scared now. I am trying to put it out of my mind and think it is all in my God's hands so we shall see.

I'm so sorry to hear of this news. I'm sure it's a very difficult time for you and your family right now. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers as are the doctors who are treating your mom.

Bless you all!

Now, there is much research on battling cancer with the mind as well. Do all you can, and work with your mom too, to not panic or feel defeated. You must envision something to represent your good white cells who will attack the cancer cells... like pac men or something that works for you and your mom... and meditate on the good things of God while having those pacmen go through the cancer cells. It's amazing what they've found the mind and body can do to help heal itself.

Since it's a rare cancer, they don't have all the answers... and that leaves more room for your miracles from God.

Dwell on whatsoever things are good, true, profitable and dismiss the negative thoughts that want to crowd out good life.
