I'm really sorry for having to post this... esp. since my username isn't liked by a lot of people... for being dark...

Anyways, I feel a spiritual darkness over my soul... and I would like to be able to see the light some day... It is just so overwhelming... and I seem to have lost my faith... I just seem to doubt everything and I am greatly disillusioned with my religion over many things, most having to do with difference of opinion on the subject of beauty and art. Anyways, could ya'll give me some advice and pray for me maybe?

I'll be happy to keep you in my prayers. And you do deserve to see the light. To bask in it even. It's horrible to feel that way. It helped me during the dark times to remember that it's only temporary. I hope you feel better soon. Sorry I couldn't offer more advice.

Dearest Deathlyones ~ I will certainly say prayers for you -- however I don't understand your request for advice on the subject of beauty & art. I'm a bit confused.

However with religion, I think we all believe that there is a God. I think we all believe that we were "put" here by God for a reason and it's up to us to find out what that reason is. God doesn't make junk, and we're all in his image. God loves us all and He's by our side all the tiime! He doesn't cause all the tragedies of the world, and He doesn't cause all the horrible illnesses. He gave us this world to do with as we wanted. He doen't intervene at all. This is OUR world. The only time He ever intervene was when he sent His son down to earth. Whether or not He'll do that again is uncertain.

I don't know if that helped at all -- probably not. But I wish you the very best. Please take care of yourself. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

Sorry, I guess i wasn't very clear... I meant advice on getting rid of the darkness. I didn't mean to confuse you...

Finding the light, well it's inside you somewhere, just gotta look for it, and feed it properly to make it grow. If the darkness took over, you probably found it and fed it too.

Maybe the religion you were following wasn't the right fit for you, if you are feeling disillusioned with it ? If you don't have faith with it? Or maybe you just need to find your way back to it. Only you know the answers to these questions.

But there is nothing wrong with taking time out to figure out what path in spirituality is right for you, or even blaze your own path. Nothing wrong with that either, as long as it is what you actually believe inside.

I have studied all/most religions and philosophies. I narrowed it down to three. I only have access to one at the moment.

I personally don't "subscribe" to any religion. I was brought up Catholic and they really did a number on me. When I was in therapy, that was a big part of my problem.

For me, when I think of God, (and this may be silly to some) I think of a Father to all. I think of light, and a Being who is ALWAYS at my side, especially when I am in need, which lately seems to be all the time. He does talk to me, but not in the usual way of "talking." It's more of a sensory thing, but I know He's contacted me. There have been times when I've been in GREAT need, where I've gotten down on my knees and pleaded with Him to come to me, when all of a sudden my whole body has been taken over with this warmth -- something I couldn't understand. I became almost afraid, and I listened -- and while I didn't HEAR anything I knew He had been there and I felt He had answered my prayer.

There is a closeness I feel to God, where I don't necessarily pray to Him. I just talk to Him. You don't have to pray all the tiime. God likes conversation too. That's when you seem to pour your heart out the best. Prayers really don't offer much. They're just recitations. Try conversations, and you'll feel more of a closeness to Him.

I doubt this helped any. I just wanted to let you know how it is for me. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee

Well... thanks... whenever I try to do conversation thing, I just get silence. God has never even sent me any message of any kind. Satan on the other hand, I have felt his presence and trust me, you never want to go through that.
I just feel so hopeless, I have been crying out to god for years yet I still haven't heard him.

Deathlyones, I'm sorry that your are having trouble with your faith right now.During difficult times our faith usually takes a hit because we all wonder "why me" or something to that effect. If you don't mind I would like to PM you something that might help you. Just let me know. You can pm me to let me know. You are in my prayers!

Hi Darkness -- Sometimes we don't hear God because we aren't really "listening." That was me for many years. I have to be in a quiet, room, and very still. Then I can "hear" him. It never fails.

When I am in a quiet room, I hear(and sometimes see) things that are definitely not from God.

I have watched so many videos of people asking for guidance and converting from one religion(or non at all!) to another.

But the one thing that I noticed is that they all sincerely prayed for guidence.

But I have a tip for you that most people don't know about:
Write out your prayer for guidence on a peice of paper, and do your best to make it the best prayer that you can posibly write with your writing ability.
second, pray in the darkest hour of the night, when everyone is asleep. this is a time of true sincerity, and no showing off for anyone. you truly want guidence.
lastly, humble yourself before the One you are asking guidance from. to me, the utmost form of humility is prostration.

I hope this helps.

Also, may I ask which 3 one you narrowed it down to? maybe I can help you with some reading/viewing material in a private message if you wish...
