this is regarding my last post in this forum...
okay so I gained a little faith.
I feel like believing in something other then death will be good for me.
I live by a prayer I even got 3 words from the prayer tattooed on my for arm (my first tattoo)
the serenity prayer. it helps me threw a lot. with firefighting and with my personal life.
I got tattooed. serenity courage wisdom.
go grant me the serenity to except the things I can not change
courage to change the things I can
and wisdom to know the difference.
Hugs from:

that is a beautiful firefighter. kind of think of it as a disclaimer for all my failures. does that make sense? for the things inside that I can't seem to change. hope things get easier for you.

Thanks for posting this, firefighter. I wondered what you had tatooed on your arm. My first thought was that it had something to do with firefighting, as that it such a big part of who you are. The choice you made for your tatoo is glorious. (That's the first word to come to mind.) Inspiring and comforting are two others. Thanks for sharing......best.....grey

thank you! I was going to get the firefighter prayer but I decided on the serenity prayer. it goes along with so much in my life. it is also a reminder that I cant change everything

many reasons i don't want to be friends with christians is that they always pray for me. i dont give any consent to anyone to pray for me unless i tell them to. cuhs things didn't work out for me all the time.

Heyit'sme- I'm sorry you don't want prayers and I understand, but you are going to be angry with me because I do pray for you and everyone else on this forum!!!

I just feel like we all have direct access to God and there's no need for another to just step in.
Yeah it seems like every time I give up christianity, people just start being friendly. when i stay in christianity, it seems like certain people hate me and do not seem to want to talk. weird, but true. even without telling them, they already seemed to know. how intuitive are these guys.
plus most christians don't accept me for who i am, like when they talk to me, they seem so not understanding. it made me want to give up my faith because why would i want to be a part of something that doesn't accept me?

Well, I don't believe in God, but I think it is very kind of those who do to pray for me or anyone else, it is a thoughtful thing for a believer to do.

None. My father studied zen, my mother was a lapsed catholic, my friends were catholic or jewish, I read the bible, other religious works for interest and to know what people were talking about---and because it is such a ubiquitous human experience.
I have a son who believes, a daughter who does not, they are wonderful people.
