My oldest grandson who is 14 and has behavioral issues is going into residential school/treatment today. In one way, this breaks my heart yet in another way I'm hopeful that he will start getting the help he so needs and deserves to get.

My family could use all the positive thoughts and prayers we can get right now. My prayer is that this is where he is supposed to be and that he can make strong headway on his issues and become the wonderful person he is meant to be.

He is very loving and very bright. I love him dearly and I worry about him all the time. But I also know that God has his hand on him and is helping to direct him and the workers he will be working with and learning from.

I also pray for all the members here that they can find their way through their difficulties and are able to learn from their experiences.

to all!

Thank you very much!

I'm praying too, that, since my grandson asked to be placed in residential because he knows things have gotten so much worse with his attitude and behavior, that they will be more willing to work very diligently with him. I would venture a guess that at least 98% of the boys in this program are court ordered to be there. For them to have a 14yr old who knows his issues and is seeking help for himself because he doesn't want to be like this anymore, it might spur them on to work harder with him.

My thought and prayers are always with you and with your grandson, and family. I know this is not easy for you but I also know that God has his hand in this and that your faith in God will hold you and strengthen you. I hope this will be a new beginning for him and that he will finally get the help he needs and deserves.

I know that you have been praying for a long time for him and for the right help he needs. I truly believe that God hears our prayers and that He is always right there. Your grandson is a wonderful young man with a big, kind heart, and he loves you more than anything. It is a testament to what love can do and what prayer can do.

It really is a great thing that he made the decision to go in and that shows he wants to get help. I will also keep those working with him in my thoughts and prayers that they will know what to do and that God's hand will be upon them too.

Sending you many gentle hugs to comfort you and loving thoughts. Love you. Always.

I imagine that environment (the other boys) might make challenges for your grandson harder, but thats only my imagination. I pray the hand of Gods love is on the people present, that a miracle may occur in your grandsons benefit. I pray that the hunger to serve and help will be alive in your grandsons teachers.

I believe we cant always control what experience we may endure in our physical world. I believe the hand of God is at work in many people whose work is guided by love and concern. I believe that despite whatever discomforts we are made to endure physically, Gods love is ever present to act as our comfort and peaceful sanctuary.

We don't really choose illness, it just comes and bonks us in the head sometimes.. lol.. I guess it is genetic.. If I know God, things will work out for the best.. Best wishes to you and your grandson.. Peace

Thank you so much Gus! I love the angels and I know they have been with me and my family many times over through the years. I do try to stay as balanced as I can through life's trials and tribulations. It's not always easy, but then who said life was supposed to be? I do know that the older I get, the more I have learned, and I hope that I'm able to apply those lessons to the present issues. Dang, sometimes it's hard though when all I want to do is scream and cry like a baby sometimes....

My thoughts and prayers are with your son. I can tell that u love him dearly and that u wish the best for him. As a father of three adult children I know.

I was watching a late night talk show and one of the guests was the great actor, Russell Crowe, he starred in movies like ("A Beautiful Mind", and my favorite, "Gladiator),

He said something that really hit home for me..... it goes like this.....

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step!"

Truly a profound statment...don't u think?

Your son is in my prayers

According to my daughter, my grandson seems to be doing pretty well since his placement in residential. I'm glad to hear that!

He had to be in our town today for a court date because he was caught by the police with tobacco (cigarettes) and he is a minor of course. I was hoping to be able to see him, but he had other plans. There were others he wanted to see and other things he wanted to do with his day out of residential. So I guess seeing grammie is not so high on this teenagers list.......go figure

It's okay...of course I'm a bit disappointed but I'll get over it. I want him to have an enjoyable time when he has the chance to do so and it was much more important that he got to spend the day with his mom and his little brother who was soooooooooooo happy to see him.

Bringing back memories of my late teen years and my gramma. She was the one I felt closest to when I didnt know who else to turn to with my miserable feelings. She listened when I was feeling badly and offered her caring even if she couldnt always understand what I was trying to explain. So many times I was just plain embarrassed to let her know everything I was going through but it gave me a lot of comfort to know she was there and cared. I'll keep praying for you.

My Granny was one of the most important people in my life. She died when I was 23 and I would give anything to see her again. It warms my heart to know that you care so much about your grandson.

I only knew one of my grands, one passed 10 yrs before I was born. I loved my gran very much and I know she loved me, but she wasn't one of those grans that was all warm and fuzzy if you get my drift. She would hug and kiss but there was never much more of a connection than that. So, for that reason, I try to be warm and fuzzy with my grandsons as much as I can. I want to be a place where they feel they can fall and be themselves without their parents getting on their case about how they are feeling, etc.
