I've got a lot of stuff going on in my life, most of it not good. But one of the few good things is my pets, my cats. And now, one of them is missing and I'm struggling to find some meaning in why this would happen to me and him.

I have something called treatment-resistant severe depression, which has limited my life down to only handling "the basics". I can't work, I only have two friends (who both live three hours away), and my own three sisters rarely even call me. And I could go on but I won't.

So I mean what I said when I stated that my cats are one of the only good things in my life. I live on a farm in a rural area and have three cats. They are unique and each one has a special bond with me. But my male cat Bailey is missing, been gone for about a week now! A neighbor about a half mile from me did say they have seen him, but still.

With all the love and joy and laughter and smiles Bailey brings to me, why would God take him away from me now? I just don't understand. I am barely hanging on here, doing my best just to make it from day to day and week to week. So I can't even begin to describe how painful this is for me, how much more this hurts me! So what's the point of this? Why beat a person who is already down?! Anyone, please...

So Bailey's making his rounds eh?

Good not to "go on" with that negative thinking...let's try and turn those thoughts around? That's great that you have 2 friends...do they text, skpe, email... what about setting up a lunch or dinner together for the near future (or even once a month schedule?)

I agree with "why beat a person who is already down" so stop it! None of the negative thoughts you're sharing is doing you any good, nor do they change anything, right? God doesn't take things away from us like that...it could be nature (how old is Bailey?) or he's got a list and he's checking it twice (for offspring in the future). Your neighbor did see him

Take long walks and look for the Cat. Spend a good weather day outside looking and seeing.

thanks for your prayers everyone!! It worked!!! Bailey showed up tonight, came running across the yard to meet me! I had not seen him in 13 days! So I was beginning to wonder if something had happened and if I would even see him again. But I was so happy to see him again, so much so that I even cried! (and i'm not the 'crying' type person) And best of all, he doesn't seem to be hurt!!

so thank you everyone for your support! I raised this little guy from the day he was born (he's almost 1 1/2 years old), so it truly does mean a lot to have him back, safe and sound!! It also means I don't have to grieve the loss of a great friend, so I'm so thankful!!!
