I've been feeling really depressed and hopeless lately. On top of that, I have a cold and have had bad migraines off and on the past two weeks. I've decided to apply for medicaid, and am really hoping and praying I can get it. I have insurance, but they barely cover anything, and I just can't afford all the doctors I need to see. I know I need to go back and see my psychiatrist, but I only get my work schedule a week at a time, plus they charge me about a hundred a visit
I'm so discouraged, I have no clue what to do. I just want a normal life, why is that too much to ask for??

Your signature quote describes it best. Our lowest ebb experiences, be it financial, emotional, physical, spiritual, are followed by a more complete understanding of how to keep it all together. Don't be discouraged.....change is constant.....I do hope you get seen for the migraines, especially that they lasted a long time. Can you talk with your T about your feelings right now?
I hope things look up for you.....

I really don't like my current therapist, therapy has never worked for me. I have to see her eventually though. As for my migraines, I'm seeing a neurologist, have been to a pain doctor, chiropractor, acupuncturist, and not really any relief. Thanks for the responses

I know i've posted the good results of propanolol for the treatment of migrains, successfully, i havent had a migraine for over 3 years without one after being put on them. I sufferred from migrains since i was 11 years old, until i was put on them. I hope you can talk to your doctor about it, it would be a miracle as i believe in my mind that this was some type of reality to be without them anymore. I do know the pain of a cluster headache too and other types of headaches too. I couldn't even function with them.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. I understand about not being able to see the proper doctor's due lack of insurance. I was turned down because I'm bipolar. I'm one that will benefit from Obama care, if I can afford it.

I used to have migraines and used Imatrex(not sure about the spelling, it's been along time since I took it). Hope you get well soon.

It is so difficult being unwell - especially being unwell with no money! I know money can't buy happiness but it sure helps - makes us less worried and more comfortable!

I hope you feel better soon

I've also thought that I wished we had more money and i've said as i grew older i think money can buy love. We all need money and it is so frustrating coming up with it. I wish i had more money, it would help soo much!!!

I actually did try that medicine, it didn't help me and made me anxious. That's awesome you haven't had a migraine in years! I can't imagine

Redbandit, I'm sorry you're feeling so low. I was there just yesterday (low), with a mild one-sided migraine. Today I'm headache free and mood is much better, but I'm also on lamictal. Not only is that my bipolar mood stabilizer, but a headache specialist told me it's a good in headache/migraine prevention too. I seem to get more headache problems in the spring also, or when stress is really high.

Here's wishing you brighter days with mood and migraine improvement!

I'm feeling your pain and can truly understand and empathize deeply, knowing you are not alone. Maybe it isn't coming from a source you can appreciate, much less know, but I hope it helps just knowing you are not alone. I'm here if you need to talk

I have migraines but take fiorinal, an older drug that dips fairly cheap. It works quite well, especially if I can take it at the first twinge. Then I use switching from heat to cold packs (15-20 mins) to keep the blood moving. Easy stretching, and not my dog massages my feet and my cat strokes my hair.
*hugs galore*, redbandit--you're on my mind

Maybe Now is the Time to see fewer Doctors! I think you just seeing to many, and the cost of that is causing stress. Time to cancel a few appointments and trust your own healing.

Sorry to hear your feeling down. I go through those periods as well. Hopefully everything will work out and you can visit your psychiatrist. I would try to call him and let him know that you really need to see him, and that you are applying for Medicaid. Since you have insurance, I hope they don't deny you. I know how expensive these doctors and meds are now a days.

no at medicaid at this point but have family, friends, former students, who are. Hang in there and don't give up till you have to. And maybe try again later if times are a little more conducive. This is what my bro did and it saved his life. I wish you all the very best!
