Going to try to keep this very short and sweet.. I attended Church yesterday and our wonderful minister did a sermon on " The Present"
Here I was thinking hey Christmas we are talking about the gift that Jesus gave to all of us ... Well was I slightly wrong Pastor Brian said this that stuck like two arrows thru the heart " Yesterday is History , Tomorrow is a Mystery but today is "THE PRESENT" The sermon was based on living for the moment and trying not to live in the past (with our mistakes ) because the gift from God was Jesus to us ... Not to live in the future because we do not know what happens from second to seconf from minute to minute from day to day ... This has made we kinda wake up because I had the oppertunity yesterday to live in a moment that I can never have again ... I took my mom that is 58 years old to her first NFL game yesterday even though was heart was broken because I wanted my wife to be there whom is on vacation in Omaha, NE -- God made it possible for me to share this experience, this moment, the memory with my mom... So in closing Thank You God for showing me in the cloud of darkness that you can shine upon me and give me " The Present " even though I couldn't see it right in front of me Tymber |

This is sooo cool. I am constantly trying to tell my husband this.. and sometimes myself too. He is one to not do much. Doesnt want to do fun things or anything. He just wants to sleep. I know he works hard and gets tired . But there comes a time when you need to just sit back and enjoy life in its moments. He was brought up basically being a workaholic. He even told our marraige therapist that its not work to him.. he enjoys it. But he never had the chance to do much of anything else!!! He knew of nothing else.. because they constantly had to be working in his family. What a way to grow up . Not being able to have any fun. I think this is one reason why God gave us Sunday's off. To make sure we get our minds, hearts , souls and body rested . And to spend some quality time wtih our family. You did a great thing there by spending the day with your mom. Something you will ALWAYS remember!!! I still cherish those times with my mom. Your doing the best you can right now. Its hard for you to enjoy life with everything going on in it. But I think your doing very well at it. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Take care hon. Hugz Beth

Right on! I've always, as much as practically possible, lived for TODAY... the PRESENT... for the very same reasons that your pastor mentioned.
It's great that you took it to heart, took the opportunity and created a wonderful moment with your mom!! I'm so happy for you! ![]()

I taught my son to always live in the present, though to learn from the past and prepare for the future. I have to say I admire my son because he is able to do this. I didn't want him to be like me agonize about the future and have the past temper my present..
So good going - I have seen from first hand thru my son how effective living in the present is. |
