Burning sage to change your luck?

Has anyone burned sage to cleanse themselves/home or area and found it beneficial or noticed any changes?

Yes, I have. I've done it both at home and at work. Did it after hours at work when no one was around. I believe it was helpful. If nothing else it made home and office smell nice!

I used to think so called spirituality thing such as burning sage to purification, working with energy rocks ect were good thing for my spirituality and harmless. NOT
when you wish upon universe and you are not sure to whom you are making wishes,
you are asking / calling for a disaster,
make sure you know what you are doing.
This universe is full of other beings that are negative and they will come to you if you call them even if its by mistake.
that's what I have found out the hard way.

I have used white sage for many, many years to cleanse the atmosphere. I think that just the scent and purity of the sage is helpful to my state of mind.

Burning rosemary is also cleansing.

Yes, I actually have a morning ritual, first I or hubby will light our unity candle, then our sage stick and smudge, it helps wipe that black board clean so to speak, releases negativity (provided you feel it does of course) then I have a candle and some chakra incense going on the right hand side of my desk, just a cone and tea light and I do my morning computer routine.

You can't be hurt by asking for something from one tradition, like Smudging with sage or any of the four directions, when you are from or in another faith or tradition.

Do what feels RIGHT for YOU and be happy and grateful.

I am sorry you have had such a negative experience with this area of your life.

Calling unto the Universe for assistance is calling upon the Divine force, the Creative Forces, the LIGHT... You do not call in negative beings unless that is what you are calling in - intentionally or subconsciously

There is also a difference between letting go of negative energies via smudging and going on vision quests, astral projections, and dream state work where you come in contact with other entities.

Smudging, when done right (fire safety!!! oh and allergies of course) is safe to do. As often as one wishes to or feels the need too.

I do think smudging with sage is beneficial if it's done correctly, right intentions... though I believe in God Almighty, my Cherokee roots (as well as the Bible) have shown me that incense does wonders when dealing with the supernatural.

I did sage smudge the house today. It is calming.

Oh YES i have smudged with sage/cedar and/or sweetgrass. It is incredibly beneficial for me and anyone who has been around me. I even do House Smudging/Cleansing for other people.
The KEY here is intent! I always smudge myself first and then i offer prayers. Everybody has their own "Way" to follow.. You will find Yours.
