I have studied and learned to appreciate the wisdom of many faiths. I want to share some of these beautiful gems with you.

You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

Thank you for sharing that. It's so beautiful and such an important reminder.

I like this one too:

“If you have fear of some pain or suffering, you should examine whether there is anything you can do about it. If you can, there is no need to worry about it; if you cannot do anything, then there is also no need to worry.” ~ Dalai Lama

Boy, what the Dalai Lama said is so true! I wish I could hang onto that 24/7.

I'm so glad all of you enjoyed that quote. I'll try to come up with some more nice ones.

Hugs to all,

Jan

Part of a tiny story I like:

Three men, all engaged at the same employment, were asked what they were doing. One said he was making five dollars a day. Another replied that he was cutting stone. The third said he was building a cathedral. The difference was not in what they were actually doing, although the spirit of the third might quite possibly have made him the more expert at his task. They were all earning the same wage: they were all cutting stone; but only one held in his mind that he was helping build a great edifice. Life meant more to him than to his mates, because he saw further and more clearly.

I like this little story.

</font><blockquote><div id="quote"><font class="small">Quote:</font>
When God was creating the universe, some of the angels were discussing where they felt God should hide the truth. One suggested the top of the highest mountain. Another offered the very depths of the ocean. A third thought that the farthest star would be best.

God heard their discussion and said, “I will hide the truth in none of those places. I will hide the truth in the very depths of every man and every woman’s heart. This way, those who search humbly and sincerely will find it very easily, and those who do not will have to search the whole universe before they do.”

As retold in “The Rhythm of Life” by Matthew Kelly
