Take away my mind, Jehovah, so I may no longer think corrupt and depraved thoughts that only serve to fuel my insanity and breed more hatred from within and without;

Take away my eyes, Jehovah, that I do not have to see, any longer, all the hurtful things of this world - all the greed and selfishness and pain and anguish we constantly cause one another;

Take away my tears as well, Jehovah, because they are shed only for myself. Even though I may say they are for others - they are not;

Take away my hearing, Oh Jehovah, that I may no longer have to listen to the hypocrisy and the lies this world keeps screaming at me, causing me so much confusion and doubt about my own worth and the worth of others;

Take away my tongue, Jehovah God - for it is the most insidious of all body parts - that I should no longer spew vile and ugly words only to cause pain and anguish, and to further perpetuate the lies I have been taught and new ones I, myself, will teach others;

Take away my limbs, Jehovah, so I may no longer be able to lash out in vengence against your beloved creatures and cause them any more physical pain;

Take away my heart, Jehovah, for it is only full of hate and anger and envy and strife - everything that is detestable to You;

Take away my blood, Jehovah, lest I spill any more in vain, for in my blood is Your breath of life, which never did belong to me anyway.

Take it all away, Jehovah, that I may never hurt another living soul upon this earth;

And just leave the rest to rot, Oh Jehovah, and let it return to the ground; for it is where I belong.

Just take me, Oh Jehovah, because I just don't want to be anymore.

(((alteredstate)))) Oh Lord, hear AS' prayer... but give ears that hear the songs of heaven's praise, eyes to view the beauty of the earth, a tongue that speaks goodness and love, and a mind that is stayed on thee...with peace. Take It All Away, Jehovah!

Dear friend, im new to the site and checking it out and found your prayer to Jehovah. I want you to know I understand the spiritual struggle. I shall pray for you and all of us(me too) who fight the daily battle of the world and the mind. Jehovah does hear your prayer, and will comfort you in those moments. His word declares: "And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he hath committed sins (faults),they shall be forgiven him.James5:15 " In the world there will always be unjust actions and beliefs; it is our job to lift them up so they can call out as you did to Jehovah, He is the only answer and way. your friend,JG

Welcome JG,

Paul agonized over doing the things he didn't want to do, and not the things he wanted to do. The battle of the flesh and the spirit. The spirit is strong, but the flesh weak. He struggled with being alive and in the flesh, which meant he was absent from God.
