I do not fear God, to me, God is love, and only love. What I fear is those who believe God is anything other than love.

It would be against the forum rules for us to discuss 'him', but, may I inquire of you, with total freedom to choose any spirituality for yourself, why did you choose one that inspires fear?

I notice you use the term 'him'. Is there a reason why?

As the creative force I choose to believe in has no hand in the goings on of our world and larger universe beyond I have neither fear nor love for it. It simply is.
Thanks for this!

I am at the point of not even wanting to use the term 'God' anymore. It has such confusing connotations.
Thanks for this!

well there is a verse in the book that must not be talked about, where He says "I create both peace and calamity"...and the one "god is love" so yeah it's confusing to me, i wish i could believe without doubts. fear in this case is in my opinion meaning "to be in awe of".

I was going to edit my post and change 'confusing' to 'complex', but, you beat me to the draw. Please don't discuss religion on my threads, but thank you.

I didn't think I was talking religion. I was actually trying to be generalistic oh well. But thank you, as I have now read the guidelines.

Hi, I guess I should really think before I post something. I apologize. I guess the title threw me off, and it was something I was mulling over. I'm often surprised and confused as to how much someone can say in this forum, I've been here a while and have seen much more of that being discussed without problems. Anyhow, best wishes.

disparaissant - It's ok, apology accepted. I didn't think you meant any harm and you were trying to help, so, thanks for that. I understand how the title threw you off, and, I'm glad you were mulling it over, that's what it was meant to do.

Serzen - Thanks for your agreement that God is love.

Love is an emotion, an energy, a spirit, that people express and experience. Love is inside of people. Love is internal, love is natural, love is inherent, it cannot be owned by any God, or anyone, it can not be bought or sold, it can only be given away.

Love would not be a true love if owned. That would be selfish.

The higher power that I believe in is love and always gives it away. That, to me is true love, an unconditional true love.

I've read your posts, in nearly every forum, I've felt your pain, I've felt the heartache and the suffering, and I've seen your strength and your determination. From each of you I feel a spirit, if it's sadness, if it's hope, if it's humor, I've felt it, in your words, your thoughts, and ideas. Some might think I talk too much about love, that I must be missing love in my own life and that by coming here, so desperately speaking about how love is so important and that it has such power that in some way, I'm trying to make it real for myself. That isn't the case. Love, for me, to me, is already real. I only want to share it with you.
Thanks for this!

Forgot to mention that this thread reminded me of the Ami books by E. Barrios, which I'm currently re-reading.

The conversation has meandered a bit, I'm really not satisfied with the title anymore, I've been working through this process, on my own, with some help here from you guys, to try and understand, to make clear for myself, who God is, what God is about. It's coming more clear to me now, it's a feeling that grows stronger in me everyday. I'm not someone who is secluded in my home, I get out and about, I work with the public daily, I have friends and associates who I interact with. I catch their energy, their spirit. I feel a love with and between people as I go about my business. I know I'm not the only one who's felt this dispirit that bad news brings into our homes and lives. I see and feel and catch onto the energy that other people are trying to put into this world, in their own ways, a spirit of caring and change and humanity that we can never allow to be lost.

I made an attempt to find out about E. Barrios, Serzen, wasn't able to find much. Could you give a summary? What do you like about the books?

That they teach essential things that you don't learn at school or university.

That's the first one. The three of them are good, but this is my favourite.

Enjoy!
