I do not take offense to any word describing the indescribable wonder that surrounds us and is us. It is beyond words so words cannot reduce it or inscribe it. I would rather seek the common ground that we experience in our own lives. To me that is a great joy to me.

Just wanted to say, I fully agree with the Buddha who, in one of the suttas said something like, "The most important thing is not mans relationship to God but mans relationship to his fellow man." I personally do believe there's a God, but that's neither here nor there, for me, in light of what the Buddha said. Sending out support to you. I enjoy your posts as well.

I have no idea what's wrong with posts about God. It wasn't trying to evangelise anyone. I'm not a Christian but I find those quotes nice. I think this shouldn't be only atheist thread. This is a spirituality forum and it's natural there will be posts about God.
Or the only religion allowed is Buddhism, Taoism and new age but no abrahamic faiths? Why? If there can't be Christianity, there shouldn't be Buddhism either.
Sorry but this is how I see it. I hate when Christians discriminate others and I hate when non Christians discriminate Christians. It's exactly the same.

I think there can be found a lot in common and don't quite get why in this case there was a reason to get offended or triggered. I personally see no reason for such reactions.

I wouldn't like if there were some hateful quotes about God's wrath and he'll, but there wasn't mentioned anything like that! And everyone can imagine God however they like.

I'd have to say I agree with Gus, as I was reviewing this thread as suggested by another member. Some of the quotes you posted basically denigrate atheists and their beliefs. Why is it okay to lift up your religion and beliefs by putting down the beliefs of others, just because they happen to not believe in a "god"?

Just a thing to think about before you post one of these quotes. Is it really a gem to be posted or is it something that uplifts one belief by putting down another?

I can't speak for Gus, but I think it's possibly the posts that were putting down atheists that turned her off, not necessarily because they said the word "god."

I think it's just a good reminder to really consider what the quote your posting is actually saying.

Looking back I see one I posted that seems a little iffy, sorry about this.

I saw a few, not just from you, that were iffy to me, but two in particular I found outright offense, one directly and one ondirectly. But I also think this can be an opportunity for us to learn how to talk to each other without getting hostile. And I appreciate that.
