So im reading this book. It suggests that people have an innate need to believe that someone in life is looking out for them or that someone is planning or orchestrating their life. So i had the following questions::::

Do you believe that?
What would life be like if you didnt believe someone was orchestrating life or looking out for your above?

For me. I think its true. I want to believe my life is laid out and that when things are bad someone is working to put back the pieces. Is that bad to want that? I'm not sure right now. I thought it was an interesting question about human nature, relgion, and spirituality though. Would I be more of a creator in my life if I thought there was no one looking afer me? I'm not sure. I think right now it just feels a bit lonley.

I believe that God gave each of us all we need to be the best that we can be. If we lack strength or courage in certain areas, He allows us to have difficulties in order for us to become stronger He also gave us free will. We have choices to make with that free will. You can and are the captain of your ship. If we take the wrong path, then He is there to help us get back on the right road, but you have to WANT to. In my experience, He seldom takes over for us completely... unless we ASK. He will open and close doors, but it is us that have to decide to walk through those doors. What if you had no one?

(((((EV))))) i am loving the questions you are posting!!! I agree with SeptemberMorn and with you. It is a comfort for me as well to know that God is there in troubled times and i can turn to Him with my broken pieces of life.

That comfort gives me confidence and the courage to make those really tough decisions in life. so i guess i feel like i am more pro-active in my life with the knowledge that He is at my side always.

Not only do I believe in the spirt of God being real, but also every dead humans spirit also

I guess the delusion for me is that I think I have very close relation with spirits, people(in my head) I have met and communicated with(they do all the communication), I guess mainly through dreams and thoughts, mainly just showing me stuff that once was or how they want something done

or maybe I am just wacko and created them in my head, this is what most normal people would probably say

From recent enlightenment, I realized before how lonely I was and how dark and scary life is without faith.

I believe it is humanistic to lay out "big" things outside themselves and let higher powers orchestrate their lives, meaning plan their lives and protect their lives.

I believe that God is real, and I believe that people's spirits carry on and they/we are still the same people that they/we have always been. I have felt closer to my grandparents after they died than I did when they were alive and I was too far away to visit them. I believe that they are aware of the things that I am doing now and still care about me and can help me at times. God loves us and cares about us.

Maybe there is an innate need to believe these things. Innate just means we were born with it, right? Maybe that innate need is carried over from a hint of memory of our former lives when we lived in God's presence and knew how much he loves us. Maybe that hint of memory is given to us to help us make it through the hard times in this life. I see it as a very good thing. And needing something to be true does not make it any less true.

What if you had no one?

I am not sure they are planning my life but have been along the same paths, and help make concessions for my life, but leave the planning to me with their suggestions ..... I am free to do as I please
