I am sorry for my rant. Although it came on the heals of a week away and lack of sleep, it truly came from my heart.

I left this forum last week with the words in these posts of what makes people feel spiritual..... nature, laughter, beauty, the love of others, and yes belief in "their Creator", all well within the guidelines set by Doc John, I think....

I truly thought that we had moved beyond the hurt, the feeling that one group was being more "silenced" than another. I really thought things were looking up on this forum, and I was able to even look past the little digs given out by some people to others.

But what I came back too seems so much like the things that went on before, or that were expressed in the thread addressing the changes planned for this forum shortly after it was closed for all of us to gain some prespective.

It was mentioned in the past that some people were upset with those who were not of the "unnamed" religion would offered to pray for others because they obviously were not of the "unnamed" religion and I guess consequently did not believe in God. That is in fact not true, as I had hoped this forum would show.... but again it is all about those that were silenced... not those who were given a voice without fear of the judgment of others.

Again, I am truly sorry for the rant....I guess it was really just disappointment that we are still focusing on what some perceive of their loses have not been able to see the hope and positive future for this forum.

Again, I am sorry.

Can you pray in the head? Through thinking ya know?

Basically that's about as close to praying or meditating as I get.

Coral, money was just an example although for some people, it is the center of their life, the lord over every situation of their lives and they expect their money to fulfill all their needs.

But like I said, it was just an example.

I know of the man who was given much for making his "talent" grow. Back in those days, the name "talent" meant "money."

You and I haven't been friends for that long, Hon, so you haven't learned that I say exactly what I mean and I mean what I say. I'm not one for playing games. I don't know how, honestly; not physical games, much less mental games. The mental games I find waaaaay too confusing. So when I made that post, I was being as sincere as I know how to be. I AM interested in who people pray to when they don't believe in the God of the Bible.

When you pray

I'm sorry you feel that some of us Christians are displaying some unsavory behavior. I don't believe we are... or maybe I should say "they" are (the two ladies who saw the same movie). They are expressing a feeling that is coming from deep within their hearts. That feeling is pain, maybe some persecution and quite a bit of stifling.

What some don't understand is that when one believes the way we do, it is a passionate belief, strong beyond measure. It is as strong as it is because it has been proven to us to work where nothing else will. We love our Diety as much as He loves us. To deny that love and that care we get from Him is to deny our very existance and any purpose for our living. Without it, it certainly puts in great doubt the blessed hope we have for a joyous afterlife where there will be no more tears, pain, strife, etc. That's just a tiny snapshot of the whole story.

When you pray

Of course you can! There's where I do all my praying! When you pray I'm not much of a public speaker, never was. I hated it when I was asked to say Grace before a meal.

I can sure "run off at the mouth" in my head, though. When you pray

SM

Is your "love" only found in your scriptures and talk of the Bible? How is your "love" being denied here? When you pray

Once again, one of "our" threads (we have been segregated it seems) has been used to attack "us". Rather than show love, support, and genuine search for knowledge.

If you read the post...don't like the direction or whatever....why bother replying if you are only going to upset yourself in replying or use it as an opportunity to be HURTFUL to "the others".

I just don't get it????????

Recluse

I'm not trying to attack or disrupt this thread. I'm only trying to understand why SM feels she has been denied love here. When you pray

Strange... it feels that way. When you pray I won't enter into that discussion with you, Kathy. I'm sorry.

EDIT: I have to say that this thread has been derailed from it's original intent and subject. Somehow, it always boils down to "us Christians" no matter what we say. My original post was meant for ALL, not just some. It was a sincere post but someone always has to assume that we Christians have a hidden agenda. It is NOT so!

In my most humble opinion, it is not the Christians who cause the problems here.

(((((SM)))))

I totally get it, SM.

I pray to Jesus. My prayers are often more like discussions than requests. And I pray about everything. Sometimes I use scripture in my prayers.

Tainted Goth, could you pm me? Your faith sounds really interesting to me, and I'd love to learn more about it.

it is true that you and I are friends september as you mentioned.......that is why I feel comfortable stating things the way I do with you

I do however feel that there is a redundantcy to the above quote, not to mention, that you mentioned that the threads intent was to learn about those that do not believe in the bible

I just feel it was edgy from the begining, though that is just my opinion

I am not measuring your sincerity, just giving my sincer opinion

The way you speak of the love you exibit and recieve could be takin as a personal front, to those who may not feel the way you do, since it is spokin of as the ultimate athority

agin, just my opinion,
personaly I have no problem with your or others views

Thread locked for continuous discussion of religion and bringing up religious argument in a thread that had nothing to do with such.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
