When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

I agree with this as the basis for things being taken away.....but I have also found out from my own experiences that sometimes things are taken away because too much value has been placed in them......but again, our hands are opened up as _sky said.....to know that he is enough & we don't need those things that have been taken away.
I have also had the experience where something has been taken away so that I can see the real value in it....that I was taking for granted before then. There are all kinds of learning we can grasp from these situations......& they are all for our own good & not for punishment....which is the most important thing for us to remember. Debbie

I have always found this to be true, Recluse. There has always been something better in store for me when something has been taken away or I've lost it in some way.
I need to keep this in mind. ![]()

When God takes something from us, he knows there is something better out there and what we have at a given moment is not the best thing. He knows and sees everything. This has happened many times with my mother, and many old relationships. For along time I was upset about this, but I know now it was for the best. The old romantic relationships I had were not good for me. I didn't realize it at first and kept going back. Eventually I gave up on them, and when I wasn't looking for a boyfriend, I found my wonderful husband of 6 years. ![]()

It's exhilirating to realise it! Phil, it was a long time before I understood that His grace is sufficient. It just didn't make sense to me... probably because I never understood "unmerited favor." Never had it in my life. I sure do now... have it and undertand it! ![]() ![]() ![]()
