From what little i know about God and spirituality...we're not meant to fight...

we're meant to love and support one another and help each other grow to be

better people...

there's questions i would dearly love to ask here to help me to grow and

others too...

but it's quite scarey the way everybody keeps fighting...

can't we all just take a deep breathe and a stand back for a minute and

think about that?

There was just as much angst when the forum was created as there is now that its original purpose is being enforced. People have a hard time with change, especially when it surrounds a deeply personal and controversial issue such as religion. That was the risk of creating this forum in the first place.

Nowheretorun is right - it will pass. Nobody will "stop fighting" because of a post asking people to stop fighting. Those who are grieving need their time and space to grieve. Some might leave as a result of this enforcement, but many others left because the forum was created in the first place. You can't please everyone... we just need to respect the feelings of those who are grieving and not expect them to change overnight.

If you mean me, then I'm sorry. I don't mean to be confrontational. I just have a hard times with the guidelines of this forum. I wanted to start a dialog with everyone, especially the admin, to see if we could figure out where religion ends and spirituality begins.

I don't think I'll be able to post here anymore, either. My spirituality cannot be separated from my faith, and so I can't post with out breaking the rules.

I don't understand the angst around here either. For those of you who are deeply religious or follow a particular religion, your religion hasn't been taken away from you. DocJohn has already said it's okay to speak of God.

Is it that difficult to speak from the heart instead of a book?

You don't understand, Kathy. We WERE speaking from our heart but our heart was silenced. Besides, there is more than just one aspect to God. It's the other aspects that we are not allowed to speak of.

I hope I'm as wrong as can be, but it sure seems as if there are less than three people here that seem to get a thrill out of challenging the majority of those that populate this forum. Is it that you feel threatened by us? I sure hope not!

I don't know what more we have to say, ask, cajole, beg or plead for some members here to "just please stop."

Please show a little respect for the original poster IN ANY THREAD and stick to the topic.

you know i agree this a place were people come to be relieved of evryday trajic to get help when needed not a place to fight over the small things that come up i mean after all evrything posted here has a reason behind it religion is a big part in this forum of course there will be some disagreement but it shouldnt be blown out of proportion we are meant to co exsist as i once heard and some people think because of rules and guidelines that your not able to speak of your religion i guess that is kinda true in away dont let words destroy your time here you ever hear tht old time saying ( STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK MY BONES BUT WORDS MAY NEVER HURT ME) well i think most people have forgotten that by now sometimes we need to get over ourselfs and leave well enough alone we cant always have things the way we want them i mean after all DOCJOHN and the other administers were nice enough to form this forum when they could have said no and appearently is regreting that he did because so far what has been happening is exactly what they didnt want to have happen in the end i guess RESPECT would be the key word in this post no one should be afraid to come here for fear of causing agruements or breaking the rules i am sure docjohn probably wouldnt mind bending the rules a bit if he seen an improvement but that would mean we would have to work together not against each other the rules were made so what was happening wount happen again im sure most of the members on here have at one time or another complained to the administers about the problems of the rules taking away your freedom of speach in the religion area honestly what is there to argue about evry1 has the right to express there believes and feelings and if some one doesnt agree one should simply and reasonably express them selfs in the appropriate manor this is the one place i thought i could come to were i could sit back and relax with out the head ache of home life i am done rambling on cuz most probably dont understand me any way but remember this we are all civilized people and should act as such i hope things change around here

we haven't forgotten though. and punishing the victims still hurts. and we are not being allowed to talk about our beliefs when we get told that we are not allowed to share quotes, songs, scriptures, and other sources that are meaningful to us, although people who don't know that their beliefs and feelings and traditions come from those sources do post about them, and when we post that material we get told to cite the sources, but if we did it wouldn't be allowed.
