My psychologist wants me to stop thinking of myself as "mentally ill" or any particular diagnosis, but I'll check in anyway. This is my diagnosis and I'm doing well and am taking risperdone. My job is going well and I've just moved into a private room and am next to the Atlantic ocean. I still struggle with the blues and irrational fears, but am coping well.

I think of myself as being sza just like I think I am a woman,I am a mom, i am sza. Yes,I'm mentally ill, that's why I'm on ssdi but its all physical illness whether it's in my kidneys or my brain.

So, how is everyone today? I had an amazing day at work, of all places, yesterday. I'm hoping today follows suit, especially since I don't have to go to work today. My cat that ran out the door last week is finally back home where she belongs. I think I'm finally starting to get caught back up on bills, since I was off work all last month to get restabilized. For the most part, anyway. Well, I hope everyone has a splendid day!

Outlawed, that was a good post, thanks.
My daughter came in to spend the last 2 night's for her friend's graduation and to be with her father and his family today.so that was nice. Woke up laughing at 4:00a.m. and realized my closet door was open and I don't want to see a hallucination in the doorway so it took a couple of mins to get up and close it. Otherwise, good so far.

Found out my prolactin level is high so on Monday I will be getting a new medication in the mail (abilify) and soon I will be going off Invega. Here's hoping the new medication helps.

Also I have group this coming Tuesday which is always something to look forward to.

Went to group today and talked about happiness and starting new things. I've been on abilify 15mg for two days. I feel sick, hopefully this will pass.

They watched me in the shower
Heard me in the rain
I learned to move energy
With nothing but my brain
Now i hear the tv
The cars go by dont honk
The simulated sirens
Are nothing but a zonk
Techno bio chemical
Can spin around around
I can sit in silence
Because of what ive found

I have not been on in a while, but I have been great. We started abilify about 7 weeks ago and it has changed my life. I have zero symptoms, and my life is grand for now. That is all.

That is great to hear! I started abilify about a week ago and I hope it will help me.

I had a long talk with my therapist today about some questions I had about my illness. We talked about other things that have been bothering me. It's been a pretty good day.

Hurt myself today. Wasn't thinking. Don't know what came over me.

Overall I've been better so that probably didn't help.

Currently "in remission," according to my psychiatrist.

I suppose this is a reminder that Schizoaffective Disorder is a lifelong condition with periods of so-called "remission."

It's funny. I still get my manic and depressive episodes, but am better able to identify and (to some degree) control them. My delusions and hallucinations are now greatly reduced.

But my psychiatrist's words imply that this may not last indefinitely.

I'm Schizoaffective and have the same symptoms. I just had a tactile hallucination and haven't had one since the 90's. Regular hallucinations yes, though. But through schizophrenics anonymous by teleconference through SARDAA I'm learning about self care and illness recognition. That helps me understand the many facets of Schizoaffective- bipolar type. Check it out and maybe join us? There are quite a few Schizoaffectives.

My doctor is coming to see me today. Tomorrow I have group and Wednesday I see my therapist. This week is pretty full, lol.

I don't know if abilify is agreeing with me though, I will have to talk with my dr about it.

Super upset today. My dad called me a "dope head" and said I'm making up my illness to get medication. I'm on Prozac Invega and abilify, drug seekers wouldn't want these meds! I cannot reason with him. I'm just upset.
