Someone I know was trying to get me to take some Genesis supplement. That in itself isn't too bad. Although there could always be drug interactions. The dangerous part was when she said that I could stop taking my AP's when I start taking this supplement.

I mean, really, who does that? The bad part is she has seen me bad, so she should know I need my medication. People like her scare me the most because I know I can be a sucker for stuff like that. I also know that I cannot afford to go off of my meds.

I guess I'm really just venting because it annoyed me that she thought she could tell me to go off my meds. It makes me wonder what she's told other people while trying to sell this supplement. How much else has been damaged?

Way to go! Proud of you for knowing what is best for you and not falling for her sales pitch. You are right people like that are dangerous. Just keep doing what you know works for you!

Yes, I understand. I've had that happen to me but I don't believe the hype they put out. Especially, not enough to go off my meds.

My daughter has gotten into all the aromatherapy that is suppose to help with anything that's wrong with you. And some of it does help her. She has allergies real bad and some of the scents do help open up her sinuses. She has given me a few, one to help relax and it does seem to help, but not enough i'm going to give up my meds. She said they have one for depression which tempts me but I'm afraid it would interfer with the meds I'm already taking. I also have to be careful because I'm on a blood thinner, of course my daughter never pushes. I hate when people get pushy with stuff like that, too.

Sounds like you made an informed decision. Best wishes.

I've had a lot of people say, "oh try *insert stupid suggestion here*" and suggest that I go off my meds. It's so stupid.

I had a person tell me not too long ago that I was special and that instead of having hallucinations I could see into other realms, and that I should go off my AP's because it's hindering my ability.

Yeah, sure.

I'm all for supplements, but as an adjunct to scientifically proven compounds. Modern medicine does have a bad habit of disregarding anything that doesn't have a patent on it. There really are some gems in the over the counter world, but I still take my lutuda religiously. Maybe it's just that lutuda has no side effects, but I don't have the slightest inclination to want to stop taking it, it's been a godsend for me.

I think some people don't understand how Ill we are and that an herbal supplement might be good for them, but they should imagine the illness to the nth degree and that would be us. Its not just anxious or normal anxiety where you can drink ginger and chamomile tea and be all calm. Had that one told to me just last week.

What I really don't understand is she has seen how bad I can be without meds.
