This would be a chat for anyone suffering from schizoaffective disorder, or who are affected by the condition in other ways (family or friends). If a few of us are online at the same time we could meet up in chat and get to know each other a bit better?

I'd be all for this, but I'm unable to connect to the forum's chat service, due to having satellite internet. One possible alternative could be something like IRC.

Hey mgran

I don't know if my daughter is szhizoaffective or bipolar but I'd be interested in joining a chat to talk... I don't understand the difference between the two... I've been trying to read up on it but so many disorders sound so similar?? Anyway, if you don't mind me tagging along I'd love to join if we are online at same time...

Thanks

I'd love for you to take part, Joy... in fact, I'd hope that you would feel encouraged to join.

EmptyReflection... you're going to have to tell me what IRC is?

Internet Relay Chat is a fairly old chat protocol. Firefox users can access it with Chatzilla for free. Alternately, mibbit is an easier way of getting on it (also free) - it's browser-based, so you wouldn't have to download anything.

If there's any interest, I could easily walk folks through getting to a channel.

It would be nice to talk to others about this. I have been dealing with it for most of my life (and I am old ), so maybe I can even offer some tips...but I definitely need tips from others as well.

BTW: I was formerly known as Eileen2010

Hi Eileen.

At the moment I'm having trouble coming online when there are others there... my sleep patterns are a bit up in the air on account of my dose being upped.

How can we let each other know when we'll all be online? I'm in the UK.

I did not mean to post the same thing twice. If 2 of the same post occur, it is because of technical difficulties with the post feature.

well, I am around mostly mornings and eves (EST in US, that's Universal Time minus 5 hrs.)....I really don't know the time differences well. Have you asked a mod if you could start an official chat? If and when we get a time nailed down that would be next. What time zone is everyone else in?

I'd like to, but somehow I don't seem to be able to organise it... I don't know how to work out the time differences, or set up a chatroom. Still think it's a good idea though...
