Hi all!
Just want to share how difficult it is to take care of 2 school age kids and my spouse. Meanwhile I am battling disturbing thoughts, whispers and trying to have impulse control. I use to forget to take my meds but I am getting better at it since I noticed my symptoms worsen. I have very little patience and interest in in maintaining the fort. It's exhausting!

Hang in there Zeus.

I understand that this is a difficult time that you are going through.

I am glad that you are cogniscent of your own means to improve symptoms that may be hindering your progress; such as the role that medication plays for you personally.

Please continue to keep us updated.

I know that this is exhausting.
Hugs from:

Thanks Hooligan! What helps me get by is my weekly meetings with my great therapist! He believes in me.

exhausting i know myself too. i can't even get out of bed sometimes just thinking of what i have to do in the daytime. i don't have much of a social life but have alot of housework to do every day, it gets so draining, and mundane. i hope you can find some time for yourself it must be hard for you, i can relate.

Avlady, I started music therapy. Music that gets me going makes my chores a little tolerable. I try to do the basics every day & one big round up at the end of the week. I have lowered my expectations a lot. My sanity comes first! You'll get there too! Peace!

Hi Zeus123. Just wanted to say welcome to the sza forum. I've learned alot about the illness here and am able to voice stuff that I can't IRL. I hope you find this forum to be as helpful as I have.

I didn't know that music therapy is available outside of the hospital. Music helps me, too. Thanx for pointing out that you use it for doing chores. I need to do that.

i take care of a toddler. by myself. i had to leave the father because he was making my illness worse - also would not allow me to get help or take care of myself in anyway. i used to take care of him as well, on a shoestring budget! that was total insanity and was exhausting! i understand where you are coming from.

i, however, am not in therapy (although i 'ought to be) and i am not taking any medications. it's still very rough. but!!!!! psychcentral has helped me in more ways than i can express. and i have an amazing boyfriend who understands me and believes in me, so that helps a lot.

Jaynedough, I'm glad you like my music idea...hope it helps!
Smilesandcries, you definitely have a handful. Psych central has helped me in between my therapy sessions. Glad to hear you have love and support. That alone gets me through my day. Wish you all the best! Hugs!
