I am SZA. Eleven years ago I started hearing voices. That soon led to more voices, and more still, until there were, at times, a dozen voices all jabbering away in my head.
Years passed, and I suffered many delusions, such as I am going to receive a Nobel peace prize, or a large amount of money. These symptoms continued off and on for years. Then back in 2015, the symptoms started beefing up. I was to receive TWO Nobel prizes, a much larger amount of money, and I would meet a supermodel wife. What makes these symptoms change? Changes in medicine? Or simple bad luck in terms of not finding any meds that are effective in stopping these delusions and hallucinations? I'd like to hear about your experiences with symptoms over time. How long have you been ill? What sort of symptoms do you experience? Do your symptoms stay the same, or do they change over the years? |

My symptoms get worse with age. I am schizoaffective. The hallucinations are worse now.

My symptoms did get worse with time, until we came to the conclusion that I respond better to older antipsychotics. I'm currently on seroquel. Now, the main factor in my symptoms severity is stress, either physical or mental. The higher the stress, the worse the symptoms.

My symptoms changed from more classic bipolar to schizoaffective. The difference was that I started to have psychotic episodes separate from my moods. Voices, delusions, all that jazz.
