I read an article about it.. Can't find a lot of info on it either. But I seem to be hearing like a choir of young children singing "Silent Night", and sometimes the "Star Spangled Banner", over and over. Like it's on infinite loop, in my head. It's weird, because it sounds like it's from an outside source, but, it's not, its in my head. It's hard to explain.

The same person I read about in this article hears the EXACT same things her head. Silent Night, and Star Spangled Banner... I read it has something to do with deafness?

But.. I'm only 20... so could I be going deaf? Or just losing it?

I have a hard time listening to music because I hear a completely different song in the background. Gets noisy. Sometimes I can't even make out the song that's originally playing because of the other song or because I can't make out the first song's melody. I only listen to music now when this isn't happening.

I have heard a flute playing a soft melodic tune. It's a very lovely hallucination actually.

I hear various styles of music, and have so for over twenty years. Sometimes it's a familiar tune/song, other times it's completely original (to me, at least). I have schizophrenia and this only occurs to me during times of high stress.

I don't think anything has to actually "bring it on", it just starts happening out of nowhere. Sometimes I hear people talking quietly too...

The same thing was happening to me BrandonSS90......except that I was hearing "America the Beautiful".......I know exactly what you're talking about. Then I got a lot of scrambled newscast, or something......wasn't sure quite what I was hearing. I started on Abilify, which has since been changed to Seroquel, and the songs and sounds stopped......

I occassionally hear drums/bass booming that no one else hears. I used to hear it everyday, but since taking Risperidal, it has gone down to 2 or 3 times a month. I used to think it was the people in the apartment above me playing music too loud, but found out no one lived there (at my old apartment). Then I moved and still heard it. The exact same beat/booming bass.

I used to have auditory hallucinations of loud thumps kind of like a muffled kick drum and sometimes hear what sounded like people talking quietly (but I couldn't actually discern words). My doc at the time said it was mild psychosis brought on by severe chronic depression. Anyway, it's long since passed, but as for the going deaf thing... I can certainly understand how that may be possible depending on the type of deafness. Was it sensorineural or conductive that was mentioned in the article? Either way, I recommend checking with your doctor.

Yes.. it is weird on why we hear that or them "specific" songs in our head. Sometimes I hear like a chainsaw noise too. And I do hear people kinda mumbling and/or whispering, it's odd.. I mean, WHY "SILENT NIGHT"? Out of all the things we have listened to in our lives...

In all honesty, when I first started hearing this stuff, I thought it was somehow spiritual. I thought of it as a spiritual experience type thing, and the singing was coming from God or the "after-life", or whatever you prefer to call it.

I know too well what you mean BrandonSS90......I asked myself over and over, WHY "AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL"?? I mean, I love my country and all, but I'm not that overly patriotic! I can easily see how you could make that "spiritual" leap......

I wish we weren't all here, but at the same time, it helps to know that we're not alone in the boat......take care......greylove

I started hearing music like that when I was a kid. It was always like an orchestra playing on a radio softly or a music box, I just always thought it was a ghost playing me music.
I never thought I was crazy until people started putting it in my head. Now that I'm older I will usually hear my cell phone's ringtone or "Sin" by NIN and sometimes I will hear the music box.

Hey, I did some brief reading about this a while back and I think they referred to it as a type of tinnitus (when your ears tell your brain it hears noise, but there's not really noise there). The info I read really wanted to distance this music from auditory hallucinations because most people who get 'musical tinnitus' don't have any psych history and because of the negative connotations of the word 'hallucination'. Sorry this is all very vague cos it was a while ago. I told my pdoc and she didnt rly care (not that she cared about any of my other symptoms much either! Glad I'm not seeing her any more! lol) Anyway, hope this helps.
