So you think in pictures (unless I'm misunderstanding)? That's very interesting.
They do that a lot... I've had instances where I'll see something bad happen flash in my mind or in front of my eyes... It's really annoying, but I'm working with it.

Really? Now I know I am really going to like this site. It's so nice to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this.

Mine are mostly sexless and I hear them inside my head most of the time but about 40% of the time they are external and I also see things as well

I get sudden flashes of terrible things. I've stopped watching shows like Law and Order etc, because they feed those images. There have been times when I haven't been able to look at pictures of family members, because I have visions of terrible things happening, particularly to the children. There's a sign on my Dad's car, saying not to put a backward facing child seat on the front passenger side, because the air bag could kill them. There's a little diagram showing a stick figure in a baby chair having its neck broken. I can't travel in the front of the car, I keep seeing accidents and broken necks. This is why I can't learn to drive. I see what can go wrong, and it paralyses me.

Hi my voices are also familiar and always when I'm in bad depressed way (suicidal),its always my mother for some reason, she's still alive but tries to influence my life a lot still, even though I'm a mother myself.
I'm pleased that someone other than myself hears familiar voices(obviously I wish you didn't) as I haven't read a post yet with similar experiences to mine and I was panicking.
Unfortunately I haven't been medicated for the voices or hallucinations yet, they want a four month mood diary which is strange since I've had depression since the age of 9!
One things for sure it isn't pleasant and I found it frightening at first.
Take care all

Hi JK. If you have been consistently depressed, perhaps it doesn't look that useful to keep the mood diary. But your doc may be looking to see if the psychotic symptoms are possibly related to your mood. If so, and treating your depression somehow relieves the psychosis, what a win that would be!!!

I really hope it works that way for you.

I recognize both a male and female voice, but the male voice speaks more often than the female voice. This is good because the female voice is quite mean. Neither have revealed who they could be, not a name either. But I haven't heard any voices for some time now, so this is just going on my memory of what I've heard in the past.

Most of the time when I can tell it's talking it sounds like a room of people, male and female just in the next room. But when its a clear voice, it's an aggressive like male voice, always. And it's loud and in my head, except when I'm asleep. It sounds like this male voice just stands over my bed and screams until I wake up.
