I don't know what's wrong with me, but I have taken a few quizzes and they said that I am showing the signs of early schizophrenia? Any information on the subject would be appreciated, I'd just like to know the symptoms and stuff.

First of all what symptoms are you experiencing? But for starters, the symptoms of schizophrenia including hallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech and behavior, and what is known as "negative symptoms" which is a lack of certain things like emotion and energy.
Hallucinations mainly include things such as hearing voices. They sound like a real person is talking to you. Auditory hallucinations is the main kind seen in schizophrenia. The second most common are visual. Delusions can be considered bizarre or non-bizarre. There are major differences between the two. Non bizarre delusions are things that CAN happen in real life but obviously are not. Bizarre delusions on the other hand are things that are physically and scientifically impossible. Disorganized speech is like when you speak or write and it doesn't make any sense to the person who you are writing or talking to. Catatonia is another symptom of schizophrenia but is less common now than when it happened a long time ago in the past. That basically means that you don't move for long periods of time and don't respond to anything. The negative symptoms are things such as a flat affect which means you don't show your emotions on your face, that its very flat. Others include anhedonia which is a lack of pleasure and interest in things you previously enjoyed. Another is a lack of energy all you want to do is sleep. Some people with schizophrenia talk very little and don't say much when they do speak. I have schizoaffective disorder and my main symptom is the so called "delusions" but the doctors claim this I still believe my beliefs. According to them I have both bizarre and non bizarre delusions. I also hear things occasionally and mainly see things. When I am having a major psychotic break my writing and speech becomes horribly disorganized. Sometimes I go catatonic for about an hour or so. Sometimes less. Not much other people go catatonic for days at a time. |
