How childish. Like a little kid putting his hands over his ears and saying 'la la la I can't hear you!' What's he afraid of? That you'll convince him he's wrong? Why can't he treat you with respect? Does he think he doesn't have to?

There are a few people I really like over there, and I like reading the threads from parents because I can identify, but mostly I leave that site feeling like I need a shower. At the very least it makes me depressed. I always say you can feel the fear. It's palpable.

well many many of those people went over to schizophreniaforums.com. this admins/owners name is Jason and he lets everything open. he is very kind and has schizophrenia. hes very open to talk to people about other treatments and even talks to those with in the bipolar subcategory etc. hes very laidback and his site has blown up tremendously since someone said to migrate over to his forum. he is younger too. because hes so nice the members respect him more. most everyone there is very friendly. like open and welcoming. when i did my first post on the other site no one commented but i got 300 views. it was BS. its better here at least right now i think because its still so new so the the membership is closeknit you know

Well, since I'd just cut up an onion, and there was onion juice on my fingers, and I touched my face, it seems more likely I got onion juice in my eyes.

Hi, newtus. Just wanted to let you know that there are people who are persisting in working on finding the school where this video was shot. They're working on approaching the school or schools in a non-confrontational way with a view toward getting them accept some input on more effective ways to train nurses on working with people in emotional distress. I think you've exposed something that will help someone on down the road. Thanks.

They're people on the alternatives facebook page. Mostly psych survivors and professionals interested in finding alternative approaches to helping people psych dx's. The ones that are working on this live in NC or have contacts at the schools.

I just watched the reverse video and as someone who works with MI/DD adults who was educated in the UNC system (UNC-Wilmington to be precise), I am appalled!! I do not recognize the classroom as a UNCW classroom. When I was there, I can guarantee you this s**t would not have happened. UNCW is a school with a well-respected psych department. I cannot speak for the other schools in the UNC system.

No disability should be made fun of in this matter...especially in the name of "education". Here's a better video I had the opportunity to see in a Person-Centered Thinking training class last week:

This is the type of thing young professionals need to see in school!!! Everyone deserves respect!!

nursing students and instructor laughing at paranoid schizophrenic scenario.

ive been laughed at by medical staff plenty of times.

they are getting bold with the medical residents putting videos on youtube for brainless enjoyment.

let me reiterate. this is NOT bold. this is just plain stupid.

I am schizoaffective and a former R.N. I remember in nursing school, during my psychiatric nursing rotation, during rounds, the psychiatrist would get all the students and staff together to discuss the psychiatric patients. Each patient was discussed individually and each patient was picked apart, ridiculed and made fun of. Especially the middle aged and older female patients. With the doctor cracking all the jokes and laughing the loudest. I was horrified but I kept my mouth shut as I wasn't a part of the mental health system yet.

I tried to watch it but it wouldn't let me. I remember going into best buy one day and there was a paranoid schizophrenic there. He was concerned about xbox security. I remember when I went in there because my phone was hacked. Everyone avoided me. A month later I went in there and the same woman was there and she gave me the crazy eyes. It was humiliating. I was still in psychosis of course, but she projected shame, and I never went back. I had to go to a different best buy tens of miles away.
