Do any of you ever see them?
I hate them - but I was thinking how harsh they are-

Mental health crises include:
  • suicidal behaviour or intention
  • panic attacks/extreme anxiety
  • psychotic episodes (loss of sense of reality, hallucinations, hearing voices)
  • other behaviour that seems out of control or irrational and that is likely to endanger yourself or others.
They won't help with DD though - no matter how you feel they won't - now this doesn't matter so much to me - because my diagnosis is wrong, but the people that really do - that's not right - just because it's not serious.

I see them 3 times a week. They have been coming to my house for 3 months. They said they usually only see people for about 4 or 5 weeks, so not sure why they keep coming here. At first I saw loads different people, but after about 2 weeks, it is just one CPN. He is okay and listens to me. He says he has helped keep me out of hospital.

Now they are going to (try anyway) pass me onto CMHT. So I would start all over again. CPN says I wont have to , all records are on computer, but I dont trust computers, people can just make stuff up and put it there.

Overall I was in a dark place and they haven't really change much, but I guess you could say they have stopped it getting worse. Maybe. Im not sure. Anyway there is nothing wrong with me! The CPN is about the only person who doesnt refer to my voices as just a voice. He belives me when I tell him He (my voices!) are REAL. They are real. Its a real person. I can see HIM.

They made fun of me - I would never see them again and that it's not important to them.

I go to the CMHT.

Im scared of getting transferred to CMHT. When the lady came with my CPN to assess me 2 weeks ago, she looked like a Government employee, maybe police or something. She said 'how often do you hear these make believe voices'. WTH! make believe! I dont think my reply made her happy at all!

Also she said she can arrange days out or someone to take me out. I dont want to go out! How can she even say these things when she doesnt know me. Trying to set me up I think. Still trying to figure out what for though. I will eventually.

They used to do things like that to me - you don't know what is and isn't real.I thought my new nurse was undercover - she said she is to old for under cover police.I used to go out sometimes with my nurse from the EIP team it was ok sometimes. I went out sometimes with the nurse I see now - she always watches what I do - we got followed 1 time as well and still she doesn't believe me.

The only time I ever had any treatment when in crisis was when I went into work and pretty much screamed at my boss I was going to commit suicide... This was about 4 years ago, the year before I was diagnosed with bipolar. They had me call the employee assistance program and see a therapist. But she was kind of a "happy puppy rainbow" therapist, and was nice and all but not exactly what I needed.

I've never seen a crisis team although I've probably needed one multiple times.

I saw someone like that - didn't help it wasn't what I needed, it was only 3 or 4 times though.

The crisis team my diagnosis isn't serious enough for them to help with. It's discrimination - get homocidal or suicidal after 5 or the weekend - they won't help if you have DD.

That's pretty dumb because having homicidal or suicidal feelings shouldn't matter what your Dx is. It should be for anyone feeling that way....

I know it's stupid.
They help with basically everything except that, I don't know why.

It's like they would help someone suicidal with depression - but not with DD.
How can that be ok - why are they so less important.

Technically they should help with Delusional Disorder because it does meet the criteria for a crisis team. Delusional disorder IS a psychotic disorder. It just means its more focused on delusions rather than hallucinations. Delusional Disorder can be dangerous because you might act on the delusions just like schizophrenia. Also with DD it is non bizarre delusions while in schizophrenia they tend to be more bizarre. I hope you get better, KUREHA.
Thanks for this!

Thing with crisis team around the Uk, is that they are only very short term and just supposed to get you through the immediate 'crisis'. Within a few visits they decide what to do with you. Or usually they do anyway. With me, they held on to me for over 3 months, the longest they have with anyone. I didnt even want to see them, but my family basically made me. But I have multiple things going on, thats probably why. Long term care is with CMHT, so if you are with the CMHT already then you are with the right team. IF that teams people are any good is another thing.

CMHT have access to a much bigger variety of help than the crisis teams and they are geared up for long term care. I am actually dreading being handed over. Like some prisoner getting transferred to a new prison

I was told that even the CMHT are very picky on who they take on now and only take the most extreme cases. Talk about making me feel like Im ill or there is something wrong with me! I have a strong suspicion there is some underlying plan or reason why I am being passed to therm and I will have to do loads research in case its some Government plan and they are tricking me to get information from me.

They told my dad they don't help with that - but they would talk to me on the phone and he acted like a total ****

HavingABadDay - the CMHT do contact them - because they can only do 2 visits and probably most times they can't, my other nurse just called the police though, with what I was thinking.

Newtus - it's better to have a psychologist - than talk to those teams.

Kureha, you're probably right that a psychologist is best. I dont have one, yet, and I have only seen my GP, hospital people, a clinical psychiatrist, a forensic psychiatrist and some CPNs. I think they will try getting me to talk to a psychologist with the CMHT, thats what I have been told by my friend. I hate talking to anyone, let alone a new person. I cant. I cant trust anyone, I know everyone of these people have some other agenda. Its like mind games they are playing with me, trying to corner me, have me put down or silenced.
