Hi, sorry i keep posting stuff.
I've noticed recently that my psychosis always seems to get worse if my friend, who also has psychosis, gets worse, or something happens. I don't know if thats just because i feel depressed more when i am worrying about her which triggers it, or what. Maybe its just that when she talks about her psychosis, i am able to know what is real and what is my psychosis which makes me notice that the paranoia, hallucinations etc are part of my illness, rather than normal.
But i just wanted to know if it was possible that we make each other worse, just by being around each other?

I actually wonder about this myself. I don't know the answer.

One thing I know is that when I was having my big delusions, all my friends played along like they were real. So, I think that made me worse, because I was validated. But, that is different, I guess.

In my experience, yes they certainly can.

i used to have a friend that was delusional a few times but normally not psychotic just mentally ill and i believe it can. when he went off the deep end and if i was already there id have to care for him and it would send me far off the deep end.

I don't know - the nurse I used to see didn't like me taking to people that agreeded with me, like my friend - she said they were feeding my delusions.

Thanks for your replies i spoke to my friend today about it, and she said that yes we definitely did make each other worse, but also better. We also agreed that it is more her making me worse when she gets worse, and pulling me up again when she gets better. I dont know why that it, but we both noticed it and thought about keeping away from each other for a bit but then realised we were too close, and without each other we will never get better.
Thankyou
Rainbow x
