I've been on abilify for about 3-4 days now & I've begun to notice that I have uncontrollable tongue and jaw movements. It's really uncomfortable & it makes talking to people (even my family) physically impossible. I looked it up and I think it's called tarditive dyskinesia. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced or even heard of this. I could really use the help

Thanks in advance

Yes talk to you dr immediately, it can be permanent if you don't deal with it correctly.

I've stopped taking the abilify and it seems to have gone away, I'll just have to talk to my pdoc & see if there are any other medications I can take

When do you see your Dr. again? Can you call your Dr. if you aren't able to get an appointment soon?

The receptionist said that I would be able to see him later this afternoon & that he would either lower the dosage or put me on something different entirely. That was not a fun side effect, I'm just glad it wore off.
