Going to request a name change....

So, I've decided that I am going to request a name change here on my screen name. I feel I've come forward enough on my recovery and I'm not so gloomy any more. I just wanted to let everyone know first so it isn't too big of a surprise.

I sent a pm to an admin person. I will see what happens. The name I requested is faerie_moon_x.

I think of it this way...

Fairy is like Tinker Bell (Disney.)

Faerie is like powerful magical being who is mysterious, beautiful, kind, yet also fierce and independant.

Just my opinion. Haha.

Faerie also sounds... I don't know. More ancient and magical, and less cute and sparkly. It's like spelling "magic" "magick" I think the "k" makes it seem more real.

I always have a faerie in the moon as my avatar (except for one time when it was a lady with a dragon.) Faeries and dragons are my favorite mythical creatures.

Dragons are definitely cool. It is kind of annoying when people confuse pixies and faeries though. Or demons and daemons. Daemon isn't just an old spelling for demon.

And so, as of today, I am now a new name!

I sent a PM to one of the administrators. Christina86 I think is her name. I explained why I wanted a name change (because I didn't want to be so gloomy any more,) and it took a few weeks. I thought I had been denied. Today I couldn't log in with my old name, but logged right in with this one.

thanks faerie for this. you gave me the idea to do the same. i changed my name also, because i'd put in too much personal info in my profile when i started here back in Feb. this year. i feel more comfortable now. of course most people on this forum know me and my real name, but that's ok. i changed my public profile to not include my state and my age. i also don't put in a dx. i just feel safer now.

When I started here in 2011 I felt pretty hopeless, and now I have hope, which is why I wanted to change it. I'm glad they allow that, really, it really makes me feel like I'm getting somewhere.

Yey! I love the new name, and it's great that you can see progress from when you first joined. Maybe one day I will no longer be "weeping" but happy Willow. I hope so anyway.
