Ha. Thats exactly whats been happening to her. She has slept through school while there every day.
This is the second halloween in a row she has spent there. She is so obsessed about trick or treating there that arrangements have been made for me to pick her up after she has collected candy. Problem is, she is coming home stuttering and with word salad. She makes no sense. She never could stay on one subject for more than a couple of sentences anyway but still. She is medicated bad. When she gets home I think we will lower some doses to a therapeutic level. She says she still sees things but they are not scaring her now and their not as bad. She even told me that they will always be there so she accepts that. As long as they are nice to her. She doesnt have the paranoia as of yet. I dont know how you do it Newtus. You are so strong. I cant even imagine how life is for you. She is 5 foot 5 and is topping 200 lbs. We keep hardly any food in the house and no junk food but she still keeps gaining weight. This hospital is a good one but they feed the kids way too much so she will come home even heavier. zyprexa doesnt help..... Last edited by punkybrewster6k; Oct 30, 2013 at 08:48 PM. I hope everything turns out better for you and your daughter...
and I agree with newtus. I call thorazine "the zombie medication" because you're pretty much an emotionless zombie when you take it (unless you're sleeping all day, which can happen.) Keep trying with the medication and different types, hopefully you can find something that will be of great help to her!

Haldol is the next option. If I could convince the doctor to take her off zyprexa that would be great. She has been on it for over a year at different levels. Problem is, tapering her off a med and putting her on another always seems to trigger a bad reaction mentally. May be worth the risk tho.
