So same guy as the sleep/dream on app has a youtube channel called in 59 seconds or less with all sorts of fun pop psych tidbits. This is based on the behavioral part of cbt where changing your behavior can affect the way you think. In this case you're just forcing yourself to smile for 30 seconds to make yourself happier. My T told me to laugh for 10 minutes to beat mild depression....now you want to find a nice quiet place by yourself so no one calls the cops but it it really works.

Haha. I'd feel like a right plum doing that; that said, I have forced myself to smile, at times when I was near losing the plot; it certainly didn't make everything all fluffy-bunnies, but it helped me gather strength. Smile and laugh to spite the bad stuff; that's how I do it, sometimes.
