So this guy on reddit pretty much came out as having sz...people are curious and supportive...this is the experience I've had with most people...he's possibly going to do an AMA tomorrow...

I'm not sure...most people don't use their real names so it would be kind of like in here probably. You would also probably have to do it on his thread...they kind of hate people who copy ideas there so if you made your own thread and were new you would probably get down voted so one one would see it...it can be kind of harsh sometimes because people there are mostly all about novelty...

What's reddit? And how come only one person can have schizophrenia? That sounds kind of weird. I don't think I'm unoriginal as other people share my DID dx. It's just the way things are.

but ive seen others with schiz there too. i dont use reddit much but i have seen others with schiz there too.

but anyway i doubt id really do it on there since i have a place here. but i was just wondering for funsies.

Reddit is a series of Internet links that gets up voted and downvoted based on general interest usually it's about humor but anything interesting can make the front page. Not only one person can have schizophrenia but it's not a schizophrenia support site...if you read the link you'll see the last time the guy did an AMA it didn't work out well in his opinion...he was called fake etc. it's just general people and some are more mature than others. What I see hated more than anything on that site is something called a repost....basically if you use the same joke as someone else even if it's a long time ago people get irritated...basically it is wasting people's time because it's like a repeated television show....they already know the joke....the same goes for AMAs, unique is best....that's why I recommend replying on his thread that way you are not reposting you can see others have done that and been accepted but they understand that they are not the focus...it would be like the joy of finding a a starfish walking on the beach...it's a novelty but the second starfish you find is just kind of meh because you already found one....now what if the beach was filled with starfish....the overall phenomena would be neat but no one starfish would get a lot of attention.

The other thing I see people hating there are the new...they will actually check how long you've been a member what your stats are etc...this guy has been a long term member of the community before coming out so they can look at his past links and know him....he has something called karma...points for being funny and interactive in the community. You guys would start out with no karma...so no inherent trust...usually the only case where this is acceptable is when making a throwaway or a login for just a single post because something is so private you don't want it associated with your real account...making a throwaway for sz is not exactly coming out.

So this is my perception of the rules....it's a community like any other with unwritten rules and social values...if you want to try it go ahead but don't say you weren't warned...

Yeah you could always try it in a couple months then there would be novelty and new people who hadn't seen the original AMA yet...but it is actual people and not all of them are good...some really troll hard because they feel secure behind their internet connection. So visibility of the post would totally depend on who was reading r/new.

i understand the trolling thing. ive had successful trolling on a few sites. i prob shouldnt say them on here. but its the good and bad of the internet. well the bad of it. it sucks to see trolling on something like schiz tho.
