What is the creepiest "glitch in the matrix" you've experienced? : AskReddit

A glitch in the matrix...ie stuff happening to people that they simply cannot explain...I have to admit that as part of my hallucinations/delusions I did think every time someone handed me a handfull of pills I had to choose whether to keep my normal life or live outside the matrix so this appeals to me on a basic level. I always wondered whether we see things other people simply don't want to see..anyway it's just for fun.

hmmm...glitches wise I would say what my friends and family call Abby Normal versus my own idea of it...it gets questionable when what is real for me is crazy to them

I get temporal displacement a lot. It's like minor time/interdimensional travel that makes things feel like they're happening in the wrong order, that the same thing is looping, or that you're skipping around. It usually doesn't cause any problems, but it's frustrating because it's confusing. It also doesn't last very long.

I posted the one that happened to me here. I gave my bfriend a plant and it appeared in pictures a month BEFORE I had given it to him. I even asked him when I gave him the plant. I felt like whoever was making everything just right in our demons ion or reality made a boo boo or mistake. It freaked me out big time for a while. Then I just shrugged my shoulders and went on with my life.

That sounds like science fiction. Sounds cool and a little scary at the same time.

I get deja vu a lot. Wasn't that one of the things in the Matrix?

I remember when I went to Rome when I was 18. A month before I had a dream about a court yard with a big silver dishwasher in the corner. There were nun's dancing on the roofs of the building. I was looking down on it from above. When I got to Rome we went to the hostil where we were staying (beautiful place, very old building.) It had these huge windows with wodden shutters. Well, we walked to the end of a corridor and I looked down.... into the court yard from my dream. The "dishwasher" was a big air conditioning unit. Also it turns out the hostil was once a nunery. I had not idea about where we were staying or anything before.

Oh, speaking of the Matrix. I remember near the end of the 3rd one, I think, I was annoyed with the whole thing. Those movies came out when I was having my issues. I was a chosen one, remember. So that part when he's in the room with all the screens the guy kept telling him he only had 2 choices, and I was like "Uhm... no, he has many choices they just are trying to trick him." And he's the chosen one with all these powers, but he couldn't figure out teleporting himself and saving Trinity. I thought it was really poorly thought out that he tried to fly there in time. Then later when he used his power (maybe this was the 2nd move? I get them mixed up,) anyway he used his power in the real world and shut down all those machines and passed out... man that annoyed me. I complained to my friends how he wasn't properly trained in using his powers and he should draw up and borrow from the earth before doing something that massive. LOL.... a mix of psychosis and spirituality totally ruined it for me.

I have tons of notable mentions but one that sticks out for me is the agent smith vision. in my younger years I had many dreams that came to pass exactly as I dreamt them. when it happens it is a unique feeling in all the world. as events unfold, something seems to happen to my perception of time, a slow motion sort of thing with a twist of "you're not actually here participating in it". very high pitched tingling sensations wave over me and every hair on my body is suddenly in business for itself.

a year into my psychosis, I was going through a delusional state in which my soul secretly splintered itself into 7 pieces and only one remained. 6 voices proceeded to coax the last one out and if they succeeded I would die....of course. I went out front of my building to get fresh air (smoke) and time seemed to slow down and that particular feeling came about to let me know this was a dream happening. the problem is, I could not relate it to any dream I had. this never happens.....there is a literal "feeling" connection that brings back the dream and a balance occurs. this connection never came. I didn't dream this. I felt for the first time in my life that I had actually BEEN HERE. poor agent smith....." wait I've seen this before, I'm standing here and I'm supposed to say something...." moments later I was in psych.

Oh, this isn't related to psychosis, but it has to do with dissociation.

I had no idea what dissociation was, I had never heard of it, until it happened to me.

I was flying to Hawaii and for the first few days I had really intense depersonalization and some derealization. It scared the **** out of me. I couldn't figure out what was wrong.

It wasn't until I returned from the trip that I had a chance to look it up. When I found out it could be brought on by jetlag I was sooo relieved.
