I got an application form from my local grocery store. I've been on their website trying to find their disability policy but can't find anything.

In September I'm applying for a job in the coffee shop at my school that's 8-12 hours a week, which is perfect. I'm on disability also and am only allowed to keep the first $200 I earn every month. So that's about 20 hours a month I can work... if I work more, I don't lose my disability, but I don't get to keep the money. I have to pay the extra back to the disability people.

(EDIT: I live in Canada.)

u have to add up how much u get paid and call the SS office and see what the figures are for how much u can make and it not affect ur disability.

Can You Work While Receiving Social Security Disability Benefits? | Disability Secrets

http://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10095.pdf

It's not hours unless it's your own business for ssdi...it's pay...if you make more than $770 a month it starts counting down a 9 month clock to losing your benefits entirely.

In contrast if you had ssi they would reduce your benefits immediately if you stated working but not by as much as you are making...

I think businesses that hire people with disabilities get tax breaks... So it might even put you in a special category that makes them want to consider you first.
