What's it like to be hypnotized? - Boing Boing

This is a first person account of someone being hypnotized to deal with insomnia. Just wondering if any of you have ever gotten hypnosis for anything like smoking or whatever and if it worked for you....

I tried hypnosis to quit smoking. It didn't work. I didn't even feel hypnotized.
I use a form of hypnosis to deal with psychosis. Self hypnosis is more effective than if another person does it to you. You have your mind set, and react accordingly.
It's actually more like meditation. While you are in a trance, you assign key words to
say when you are not in a trance. It works pretty well if you really focus.
