I already posted about this in the bipolar forum about a month ago, but I'm bringing it up again because I am rededicating myself to it, and I'm posting it here because you all have inspired me to keep going with it.

I'm trying to start an organization. I'm calling it Phoenix Rising. The goal of the organization is to raise awareness on important social issues, like mental illness, homelessness, loneliness and LGBTQ issues. I want to do my part to create a better world for those of us who deal with one or more of these issues.

Here is Phoenix Rising's facebook page, if you're interested. I haven't posted much, but I hope to get more into it: https://www.facebook.com/affjerf

Here is a link to the blog: Phoenix Rising

I hope to share encouraging posts and interesting articles on the facebook page. I also plan on making some YouTube videos, even though it is really difficult for me.

My most ambitious goal for Phoenix Rising is to publish e-books. I am currently working on:

-a novel documented the lesbian romance between two elderly nursing home residents (one character has bipolar)
-a dystopian novel about a world in which disagreeing with the government=insanity=criminal offense
-a collection of stories from bipolar patients to demonstrate what the illness actually looks like
-an exploration of incompetent/negligent psychiatry and therapy in the US and what can be done about it

Thanks!

I like it! What responsibilities come with being part of Phoenix Rising, and what would it take to join it?
Thanks for this!

Amazing, basically you've just got to be willing to learn and discuss! If you do any writing, we could have you post to the blog from time to time, but you don't need to. Seriously, if people just left me comments I'd be a very happy person.

If you see anything interesting on the web relating to important social issues, you can pm me a link to me and I'll post them.

Hi everyone. I've once again rededicated myself to Phoenix Rising. I've updated the blog; this post is on why I've been having such trouble with dedication to the projects I start...

We have a new blog (because the old one got deleted!)!

Here it is: Phoenix Rising

New posts and videos to come. If you want to help out at all, message me or e-mail me at bipolarconversations@gmail.com.

Minerva Storm is my pen name, not my real name.

I'll hopefully be posting more about this as we go along!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
