has any one had any experiences with this? It's a new doctor I'm seeing and I'm not completely confident in his knowledge of medication. He started me on 80mg of Geodon and reduced my Seroquel from 400 to 200. I've read that Geodon should be taken twice a day. Does any one on this forum also deal with mania? I'm also worried about that.

Thank you for any pointers you can give me.

I was also on 80 mgs. I was on it for about 4 months. Not trying to scare u but it gave me akathisia if I ate after taking it. Also my psych nurse had me taking it with 750 calories. I would get really nauseous if I was even a half hour late taking my dose.

But on the other hand, some ppl have had great experiences on it. Unfortunately I think it's one of those things you have to try to find out your reaction...

I was nervous to be on it and got hives, probably from my nervousness. I had tried it about 10 years earlier and noticed no effects one way or another.

I had tried it about 10 years back, and like you Sunshine experienced terrible akathisia - I thought it was even worse than any depression! I wanted to give it another try though to see if I could lose weight, and because, like you Angelique, the side affects of meds change for me over the years.

How many mgs. are you on Gr3tta?
Thanks for this!

I was on Geodon about a decade ago; I think it is one of the meds that contributed to rapid weight gain.

Everyone is different but Geodon is considered weight neutral.....

Yeah akathasia is horrible. The drug that gave me the most akathisia was latuda. It was awful and I would get it after drinking any soda. Took me awhile to figure that out though.

Hopefully you'll have a good reaction to it.
Thanks for this!
