I'm curious about what sorts of things have made a difference in terms of your quality of life. Things either from treatment or from your own life that helped.

being on the right meds, having a doctor who cares about me and knows what he's doing, being around like-minded people (people who also have a mental illness), staying away from people who might judge me, having places I have to be - a reason to get out of bed, art, writing..

Also, for me, I've found it better to not have a lot of therapy, because it makes me focus on my problems, just thinking up what issues I might need to discuss. A little therapy is good though.

My hobbies (art and mushroom hunting), class and social activities outside of my home help a lot. I feel better when I'm busy. Regular contact with my mother helps too.

Medication and my psychiatrist have helped tremendously.
Being heard and respected has a lot to do with it.

Meds, grounding techniques, focusing on what I DO have control over. Sleep too. If I don't get enough I really struggle. Oh and my self care box.

Have any of you tried things like mindfulness, meditation, or movement? What about journaling and writing? Do these things you can do quietly on your own help?
