Small Molecules Help Reactivate Receptor Linked With Schizophrenia | Chemical & Engineering News
All the current meds target dopamine and thus only positive symptoms but this one targets glutamate and thus both.....it's very specific and based on actual human mutations and thus will only work for a subset of individuals.....it's currently being tested in rats.....let's hope the drug companies pick this one up. The target is GRM1 and it activates rather than inhibits the receptor....
