I can't shake the feeling.. Then I start obsessively thinking thoughts that I don't want them to know and I can't suppress them.

Do you think it's a delusion? Can you hear their thoughts?

People seem to generally know what I'm thinking or what my attitudes are towards things at any given moment too. It's pretty unsettling and embarrassing, especially if the attitudes aren't particularly flattering.

Sorry to hear you've been troubled with this.
Does this happen with known people or strangers? In what situations? What triggers it?
With everyone or just 'select few'?

Assuming this were true... Good people will know and understand even the 'weirdest' thoughts... And those who might not have good intentions, well, it's their problem isn't it?

What if you were faking it? How can they know these thoughts are 'for real' or just fake?

Maybe you can try singing in your head? Or reciting poetry? Listen to radio/music?

I can relate: it's horrible feeling exposed like that I find avoiding eye contact sometimes stops the thought transmission, or I sing a song in my head so that they hear that instead of my real thoughts.
