The following is my FB status for August 14th, 2014. "Stopped after my therapy to visit a friend, ended up invited to my first paranormal investigation in over a decade!

Nine of us (no comment on who, but these are fairly well known people who sign books at conventions and Pagan Prides, my jaw dropped at the few names I've heard so far) are going to an undisclosed location in NY state for a multiple day paranormal investigation. I'm to bring whatever I may need for several days of whatever preferred techniques I use, and enough food, drinks and medical supplies. Fear not, I know exactly where I'm going, which is even worse, because I'm being discouraged from research. Aspergers version of Hell."

The reason I am sharing this with you here today is that I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps it isn't the wisest idea for someone diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder to return to paranormal investigations? After hearing and reading that one of the symptoms of SPD is an obsession with the paranormal, the supernatural and the occult, I wondered for a while how much of what I saw in my 30 years of investigations was evidence and how much was in my head. After much soul searching, pardon the unintended pun, I was able to separate paranormal events I saw alone and paranormal events I saw with at least one witness, so I know it wasn't all in my head all the time.

I guess what I'm asking here is will this set me back, or will this help me to move forward with getting back to my paranormal investigations and back to what I love doing best?

I leave for the investigation Friday morning and will be gone for 4 days.

In my opinion you have to be who you are....while I was psychotic I thought I was training to become a shaman.....after getting better I actually learned how to practice....the rules helped me....while sick something might be seen in one way but considering for example I'm not allowed to ask to heal people without permission I don't think I'm randomly healing people.....and while I like shamanism I'm not as obsessed with it as before....I found it normalizing rather than aggravating for my condition. Of course schizotypal to me well I don't feel it's something that requires changing unless you want to....

I just worry about you going someplace that nobody knows you're at.

I hope you're ok, keep us posted please.

I'll let a chosen trusted few know where I'm headed at the last second.

Sorry I never got back to you. I didn't end up going. I decided that it wasn't worth the risk of spending a weekend with a bunch of strangers when I was in no condition to even be around people I knew.
