Just wondering how you'd go about it if you had no way of asking friends (because no friends) and obviously you can't ask normal people at like an eye doctor because they have different insurance. I've tried calling my insurance to ask but they give me names of doctors who really aren't accepting new patients.

A university system is good if you are ok with students being there to assist...they usually have an availability with someone even if the one you want isn't open.
Eta a university with a hospital....

Thank you. The closest one... I'm not sure where. Thank you, maybe there's a small one nearby...

Another option is going to a social service agency that assists people with mental illnesses. This is how I got my awesome primary care doctor. A personal referral is usually a better way to go because the person making the referral often knows what the doctor is like.
Medical care associated with universities is definitely better. I find the care to be superior and the staff more responsible. You just have to put up with students.

Thanks... I'll have to look in the phone book. The problem is there are a very few docs in my area but I don't want to go to any of them. If I tried to *explain, or if I were asked to explain why, my explanations would not make sense to anyone else. So I'll see. Thank you for the suggestion!
ETA: *and I think anyone would suggest them first. |
