Who has it ? and do you comprehend this language of the spirit or do you find it to confusing, has anyone read Jung or anyone else who discusses mythic symbolism.
I know I had this idea that if I went to Starbucks I could connect with the power of melusine Melusine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia who is the double tailed mermaid on all their cups etc ,I felt like her symbolism and power was so strong there that I could tap into it in a certain state, much like ancient people carried and worshipped certain symbols, its amazing that ancient symbols are still so persitant like Nike the goddess symbol on everyone's shirts and shoes. |

I have read Jung and Joseph Cambell a lot. Symbols are powerful. My personal one is two cones, one inverted on top of the other surrounded by a sphere. Has a lot of personal meaning to me.

I had some of this before I was diagnosed and put on meds. I'm not drawn to them much these days... But I do feel my life was so much richer before the meds... Are you on meds, Katie?

I'm obsessed with symbolism and a kind of numerology. This is a big part of my psychosis and exhausting because everything I see or hear has to be "decoded".

When I first got ill things would "glow". I collected these items (objects and pictures mostly) and would try to decode the meaning behind it all. I was convinced someone, usually the Raelians, were sending me messages that I had to piece together.
I don't get this like I used to. I miss it. It made life interesting. 42

I know, so many people just like me try and connect the symbols or read them like a sign language ,do you think maybe we are more right brained orientated which is the side of the brain that thinks in symbols? I wonder what role people like us who read symbols played in ancient times, when I collect my symbols together it's always meaningful, have you noticed too there will be a theme of the day were you get the same symbol over and over.?
Scientists look for patterns in a different way and try and read the universe using the left hemisphere, why can't we read the universe using the right! ![]() me |

That's so fascinating that you could see glowing objects that were somehow transmitting a light,it's amazing that we can see things others cannot,I'm not sure what raelians are.
Maybe in ancient times certain objects if they were spiritually charged they did glow, but the only reference you had to interpret this phenomena was raelians but in ancient times the elders or whoever would have told you what the glowing objects meant so you could translate the meaning. Quote:

I haven't read Joseph Campbell yet - the power of myth and the heroes journey etc, I agree symbols are so powerful I use to collect dictionaries of symbols when I was younger.Cones are such a interesting symbol I use to think of them quite a bit ,you think of witches and wizards (wise men and women )their hats always being conical and so on,there's certainly something spiritual in that and how they access their knowledge.

When I was experiencing this 'heightened' state, I googled/found on Wikipedia stuff from everyday objects (eg name of mum's haircare product) and it would be meaningful.
![]() Symbols and names persist through times... I do think in the old times, it was important to read the symbols or 'signs' - many people couldn't read so symbols were even more important.... and even the Bible (or Christian community in general) says something about being able to interpret 'signs of times', if I remember it correctly? As far as I know right-left brain is an oversimplification, there are differences in a more intuitive or more 'scientific' view, though many scientific discoveries could be said to be 'intuitive' first too... For me, they are just parts of the whole, or a bit different perceptions... |

I believe I see signs in numbers sometimes. Most of the time it is very meaningful and accurate. I do look for those, especially if I am planning something important.
However, I do not take it to be an exact science. If I get a bad sign I chose to do what I planned anyways, because I know that I can't trust the signs 100%. When I was in labor for example, on the way to a hospital I saw very bad number combination. Couldn't back out from having a baby, so chose not to pay attention. Everything went well ![]() I think it depends a lot on how you use your signs, if you retain some critical thinking about them and use them to your advantage, and they don't stop you from leading normal life, it shouldn't be a problem. As for the ancient times, there were people considered insane then as well. Not all of the psychotic sufferers were regarded as gifted with insight. |

The number three (3) is big in esoteric study. Tesla said that if we understood the significance of three we'd know all.
