Depression is way less clear but all the drugs with the exception of wellbutrin work on the serotonin pathways.....we're kind of guessing based on how the drugs work rather than any actual measured neurotransmitter levels and sz is complex and involves glutamate as well as dopamine....

My doctor recommended cardio---I already walk 2 miles a day but she wants more than that----I just don't find it all that fun----

Is that why Straterra is good for ADHD and depression?

Some ups and downs this past few weeks. Downsides: well lets forget about those. Upsides: Slipknot and an awesome pint fueled after party! I'm so broken, I remember only a few years ago being able to do three Metallica shows in a week and I'd be fine. One Slipknot show and I am in pain! Worth every minute though!

Hope you're all well!

The only thing I feel ashamed of in my life is my psychiatric history. Why did I allow it to happen? Why did I violate every one of my morals? Why did I let myself become vulnerable? Why did I allow psychiatry to treat me like a piece of ****?
I was just thinking that today actually. I feel almost embarrassed and ashamed of what's gone on this past year and a half. I put way too much trust in these services and was only let down.

I know a bit of other meds, like how lamictal also helps with depression. I'm taking two meds that help with depression which is great because I can't take traditional anti depressants due to them causing mania.

Basically there are 2 amino acids that come before dopamine one is phenyalanine and one is tyrosine like Junk DNA said, phenylalanine becomes tyrosine after the addition of a hydroxyl group. Theoretically having more of the tyrosine or even phenylalanine could increase dopamine levels but in this study they used tyrosine since its closer to dopamine. So if you eat a lot of high protein foods you will get a lot of tyrosine.

Thanks everyone for the support. I'm not doing well. I think it's more ptsd symptoms though or my meds are off. I see the pdoc tomorrow. I've only been sleeping around 5 hrs now for about 4 days and its not restful sleep. Could be a mixed episode coming on...

I ended up having a decent cry though. Released some tension.

I wish this were easier...

Nothing much. See pdoc and therapist tomorrow. It's gonna suck. I've been falling asleep at like 8am and getting up at 1pm. My first appt is at 9:30am. So I'm just gonna stay up all night.

Why do you ask?

My lamictal and Straterra are the ones that help with depression, but are not anti depressants.
