Would a doctor prescribe something like Concerta or Ritalin for bad concentration? I was diagnosed with ADHD at 15 but grew out of the Hyperactivity part but still have the same attention problems.

Surely a doctor would but be very easy going about the drug use. I just tell my psychiatrists me: "I swallowed them all". Him "What?" Me: "like down the throat".

Also it will be harder in Ireland to get stimulant medications but since you have a diagnosis then it sounds plausible. My first psychiatrist came and practised in Dublin so idrk. I'd say you have a good shot but psychosis treatment always comes first from my experience. Like if you have ADHD and your psychosis isn't getting better, forget about stimulant medications is what would be said.
Thanks for this!

Thanks Tweaky. I'm not sure they'll give them to me because of my history, though if I were wanting to abuse amphetamines, I would abuse some decent amphetamines like MDMA haha. So that'll be my argument.

Are stimulants generally bad for psychosis?

Generally just anything that brings you into a hyper aware state will cause psychotic symptoms for me anyways. But for me Ritalin is a very calming and soothing stimulant like nicotine even at high *** doses.

- Tweaky XD

Edit: So like if you're calm while on a stimulant and on the right dose (probably not my dose), you should be ok

Thanks for the info, I'm not sure about it myself. I was on Concerta when I was 15 for about a year, it's the only reason I passed my exams that year, I was a lot calmer and could simply focus on what I was trying to do. My attention span widened as well. I don't remember any 'high' or elated feelings at all.

Ya when I started Concerta it made me emotionless and dull every time it got increased which is supposed to be gone for people like me my psychiatrist said but I couldn't wait that long and got suicidal so I stopped taking it for three months. After the abuse, my brain seems to notice the substance triggering memories of being high on lethal doses and is like hmmmm...

We eloped on rock bottom and married on sobriety.

I tested the power of the chemicals in cigarettes and walking to school in -20-30C in a snow blizzard and it kept it's light perfectly ^^

But I had to keep it in my mouth or my hands would freeze..

had to delete what I was saying... I'm being monitored here... it's not safe, I'm not safe. They're communicating with me again, telling me what to do. F--k this.

Okay, so what happened? It was the lithium. My doctor didn't tell me this would happen, he just made light of something that I nearly killed myself over. I feel manipulated. The lithium limits the amount of norepinephrine, which is your stress neurotransmitter. It triggers your fight or flight sympathetic nervous system, which causes anxiety and panic.

Their not existential. They are a biological reaction from a drug he kept me on. I know it's all an experiment to see what drugs work for what person. We're all different biologically. However, let's be honest here. There is no need to flip-fop, and try to trick me.

sorry to hear Ody. i thought your pdoc was good?

He is very good. However, I think he was a bit manipulative in this situation.

I'm so agitated. The nurse wants to see if a 25mg seroquel will work instead of giving me a clonazepam or a zyprexa

Hi guys, I'm having one of those days where I don't really know what to say. But I hope you guys are feeling alright tonight. (Yay, I rhymed). My phone is torturing me by beeping intermittently, indicating that someone's tried to send me a text, but I have no way of knowing what it is or who it's from. D:

I'm so proud of myself for sticking to college these past nearly 8 weeks. I will have my first 6 credits by next Friday. It has given me back my confidence and improved my self esteem I'm rewarding myself with a necklace from Tiffany & Co, can't wait to get it, I don't own any nice jewelry
