So when I was diagnosed and leaving hospital after a short stay I was required to have a MRI scan on my brain. And even though it was years ago now I still wonder what they were looking for?
I mean the doctor said I had a schizophrenic brain from the image.
Is that even possible.
Did anyone else on here get one too?

I got one when I was first in hospital about two years ago, they said it was just to rule out any organic problems that could be causing my symptoms like a tumour or any other damage. I don't think they can tell if you have a mental illness like schizophrenia through an MRI. I would imagine an FMRI would give more detail but it's not used as a diagnostical tool.

Yeah I didn't get the having a schizophrenic brain part.
I guess they were checking for tumours any stuff too.
I mean Schizophrenia is something i've had since childhood and only after my actual first proper stay in hospital did they do the scan afterwards

Sometimes there is ventricle enlargement in patients with schizophrenia....it's not diagnostic though so like chickenfoot said....they are looking for medical explanations.....
